Duster De-ruster
What’s crackin slackers?
I think its trying to kill me.Ummm… that sucks.
My Duster is dead right now. Couldn’t start it last week. But it never left me sitting on the road. Battery is recharged and ready to try again when I get a chance.I think its trying to kill me.
The amount of times its just shut off in intersections is alarming. That was 6 I believe.
You need to duplicate the problem without being in an intersection.I think its trying to kill me.

Yeah if the new VR and the Alternator don't fix it, i am just going to buy a new wiring harness. My Duster is dead right now. Couldn’t start it last week. But it never left me sitting on the road. Battery is recharged and ready to try again when I get a chance.
Simple wiring. Why go to such extreme?Yeah if the new VR and the Alternator don't fix it, i am just going to buy a new wiring harness.
Could I see the same change at the ammeter? You need to duplicate the problem without being in an intersection.
Foot on brake, vacuum booster, transmission load and brake lamps illuminated. Low voltage and it quits. Get a voltmeter to put under dash.
its not the only thing wrong with the wiring.Simple wiring. Why go to such extreme?
also the rear running lights just stop working now and then, but when I look for shorts, or bad grounds, everything is fine.its not the only thing wrong with the wiring.
just all the little gremlins that it has.
nothing too extreme, just problems that fix themselves with no sign of anything wrong. Every once in a while the key will just do nothing. Its been fine for a few months, but when it happens it is just a ***** to deal with.
Ammeters are so passé. Ignore it and get a voltmeter.Could I see the same change at the ammeter?
I know it was constantly discharging when it was running, and it really went down FAST whenever I turned the headlights on.
ok, if I get a buddy, could we just put the voltmeter on the battery? or the output stud on the alternator to see if it is charging?Ammeters are so passé. Ignore it and get a voltmeter.
I know I am old but it has been my experience that electrical problems do not fix themselves. Tooljunkie has forgotten more about troubleshooting than most of us will ever know. Listen to him grasshopper and save yourself hours and hours of grief plus a whole boatload of cash! We are all rooting for you as it is very cool to have your youth and enthusiasm aboard!its not the only thing wrong with the wiring.

I am definitely trying to soak up as much info from everyone as possible, I'll get my voltmeter out when I put the new parts on to make sure it's fixed.I know I am old but it has been my experience that electrical problems do not fix themselves. Crystal clear. Been sitting out here for the last hr. Hasn’t changed. Local paper says the start of the partial for us is 0208-0230. With full eclipse near 0430.The beginnings of it should be visible right now in your time zone.
