Pulled these off and reused them on the replacement

Last week the truck wash worked to ensure rain, even though it was only .03". This weekend the weather goomers seem pretty convinced Sunday and Monday are going to be wet. No "this % chance of rain", the forecast just says "Rain". I'll get the Express washed just for good measure

NowI'm feeling sorry for ya.
Well I tried. Don't know what he wants. You told him what the next steps are, and I gave him the 'how to' do those those steps.
He just repeats what he wrote in the first posts. I'm lost.

Yeh, I think I reused the unions. My old tank was 80 and new is 50 . So a little shorter. I have the valves and unions up higher and just spliced in copper below to reach the new heater. I think the new one has built in arrestors. Don't think I added any external on the new one.

So working on fitting 1/4 panel. Is too pointy! Was sticking out 3/8 inch on body line. A little trimming and i stretched the lip in the door jamb to flatten the line a little. A little hammer /dolly work and i find it acceptable now.

Cheryl is going through the same thing. Yesterday, she told me she was kind of out of sorts with retiring. She's looking forward to it, but unsure also with the transition. She like many has worked the last 30 years both full-time and 22 years in the Reserves and served on countless professional and community boards. She's use to giving, mentoring, and go, go, go. It will be an adjustment for her, but she'll be ok and I'm looking forward to spending more time with her.
For sure, Jodi picked up on it last night as I was in some sort of funk. It is a serious adjustment. Pretty sure I will not miss serving on this board or that one. Thankless gig right there! She figures out how to manage the guilt of leaving team behind and so much not yet done let me know!

Some more done on the bird. 1/4 panel to tail panel is missing a piece on both sides. So taped a piece of poly and drew what i think should go there. Cut it out and drilled a couple holes. And it will work fine. 14 gauge metal is difficult to work with.

Opinion please, trunk drop has a 1” hole in the bottom corner, i presume wash out. Im thinking of welding a patch over it. Thoughts?

As a non purist I say patch and move on. How ya liking the wind today? Holy smokes 50-60 mph gusts is no fun. Ripped truck door right out of my hand.
Wind is insane!
These snownadoes suck too. Driveway drifted in some too.

40+ mph here, there is a canvas/ tarp style shelter tangled in the trees across the road, about big enough to park a car in it, must have come from the farm up the road

Does the door still close in the proper fashion? Seen that many many times in the old homeland. My body shop buddy Greg had a special 3/4 drive socket he kept handy for adjustments to those wind effected doors

I've seen them (that plastic caps) with drain/vent in them.

My philosophy is. The work was there before I signed on. There was work to do while I was there, I did my part, and there will be work to do for the next person when I'm gone.
