Stop in for a cup of coffee

I received my exhaust kit. The flange is pretty thick, there's a warning of possible burn thru of the muffler and they recommend an experienced welder to avoid melting the muffler. I'll be taking it to the muffler shop, if they'll do the work.

The asparagus isn't much this year. It has been a different spring. Cold and wet, a week of 100° weather and now cool.

I read it hackberry isn't that bad and makes great firewood.
Cottonwood does have a long life span I have several 80 feet tall and probably 200 years old base on their size.
Bradford Pears are a little worthless tree. People in the area loose a portion of them in any wind storm. One nearby city has a proposed ban to plant them. They don't even burn well.

Wonder if that pear wood would be good in a smoker. I like finishing with apple or cherry after starting with alder. If I was "up on the hill" I'd be after some of that oak or hickory!!! Memike's lucky to have so much of that around.

I have buckthorn growing abound, it’s considered an invasive species, new growth to 6in round, always brushing the stuff out here and there to keep it in check

Man that writer is grumpy! Makes me look like Mr Sunshine. LOL
I can think of many worse trees to plant than Hackberry. Alanthias - Treee of Heaven is probably number 1.
Just planted some seeds- pumpkins, carrots. Radishes. Forgot they want you to soak the green beans. Will probably do that tonight so I can get them in tomorrow. Saw this in the corner. You want me to dig it out and save it for you? It will get a shower next time I have the weed killer out…

3.5 hours of cutting. 175 bucks worth of fencing so far. I think the chain link itself is useable. The posts and rails, not so much

We have a lot of oak and some hickory in our area. We have several walnut trees.
On the property next to us owners have pear and apple trees. Wife thought some fruit trees might be nice. I told her go for it all yours.

Cottonwood are large trees and found in my area and find them along a water source.
A mature tree will use up to 75 gallons of water a day. Not a good firewood. Lighting likes them.
A PITA in spring when their seeds drop a white floating cotton type substance that blows around for a few weeks.
Some days it looks like we've had a light snow. Crap gets in the garage, car if you leave the windows down, AC unit has to be kept clean, air filter on Zero trac, etc...
You should see what it does to a fishing reel!

Probably planted by Mr. Squirrel.

Morning Mopar arborists, cold and windy here. All of the trees out here, we have planted except for an Russan Olive.

I hate the snow as we call it but it goes with the property. We probably have 20 cottonwoods just on our five acres.
It's six weeks with the leaf blower at my side. :( Could be worse.

I'd wack that right now! Then again when it sends up a new shoot or tries from the roots! or if not distrubing the stake, get it low.
and the squirrel :elmer:or in your case, just let Holley take of him. Makes her feel useful and great squeaky toy.

I've found weed killer far more effective at actually getting rid of them. If much higher I cut it down and wait to spray the shoots.

yea two cuttings doesn't always take them out for good depending on the season and weather...

I have some blue stuff Igot from Mopar Joe. Cut the unwanted tree and brush the stalk with this blue stuff. It will kill it. I use a foam paint brush.
