We had dress codes we had to abide by. In Jr High we couldn't wear just a t-shirt unless the shirt had a pocket . Hair touch a boy's collar, call made to the parental units to remedy the situation. Probly a good thing I didn't start wearing Carhartts until I was out of school
Is there any hand tool that Carhartt doesn't make a pocket for?
Good morning everyone. Conference call done. Now just paperwork, excel sheets, etc..
There’s a tapered groove on the cable end that it goes on too

Sometimes it's good to walk away !
There should be a grove it rests inOther end... where that shaft attaches to the linkage

Reset is good. When my tools start getting bigger I know it is time to walk away for a bit!

That spring clip is bent open to far right at your thumb nail in middle photo, the cross bar part should be centered over the middle of the loops.Pulled the Park housing...
The lock spring was loose and literally fell out...
But looking at it, trying to figure out how to get it to stay in the appropriate slot. It seems sprung?
Stop washer is a bit bent...
And if it matters the passageway on the side of the housing was plugged with liquid gasket...
Open to good ideas or.even some bad ones on how to get the locking spring to stay in place.

Take some small needle nose pliers and slowly bend it clock wise till it is centered. Slide the loops over the sleeve and just lift the tab end up to clear the sleeve and slide it down till the cross bar pops I to slot.
This a common problem on the clip when over pushing tab to release cable.

The bottom pic. Is correct.
If you tact the lock sleeve over and insert the cable into it the crossbar will drop into the groove and lock in cable, then just push the end of the cross tab up out to edge of sleeve to release it.
The other end of the spring shoul go into the small hole to hold up the sleeve when assembled on trans so cable can be taken in and out on car.
Yes but end of spring is also bent.
Understood. .. but this is the golden nugget right hereYes but end of spring is also bent.
