Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good morning everyone. I hope all is well. Had a bunch of work to do around the house last night, bit more tonight and through the weekend. Have to get as much done as possible while it is nice out. Mom may need me to come up and help move Halloween weekend vs the plan of Nov 4-6. I hate it when plans keep changing.

Close oil hole is on the bottom and the port for the oil is on the top and it could not be oiled. Wiped out bushings, saw this a few times on the older ones.
So, what you are saying is my distributor needs occasional lubricating? Motor oil?

Hang in there Eric. Hope you get all you need done and things go smoothly with your Mom

The older mostly pre 68 have a oil cap that once in a while need a few drops of oil for the upper bushing since it will not travel up like the post 68 ones.

Not laughing here. I take spares if I can of parts that have given clues of that perhaps I should have lower confidence in making it the whole trip.
I've carried alternators a few times, and the one time I should have, I didn't. Was the last time I trusted that local rebuilder.

Most important I carry a few basic tools. Enough to handle most basic repairs and replacements, triangles, and a first aid kit.
Those all go in the green box and the blue tackle box. They generally get strapped in over the axle.

Well, I made my own display board for MCACN. The print shop at work is going to print it on foam board. Likely have to make a stand for it. 24x36
Surprised you didn't get any responses before you did it. I looked through the photos I had from Carlisle but didn't have any good examples to share.
Same with my pics from the Frostbites - but at that few put out any info about their cars. I usually stick a small (letter size) summary in the windshield or back shelf.

Rob it seems 68 and up dont have them they went with the housing with the flute passages built in that lets the oil splash up. Kind of hard to explain usually has a plastic washer/seal on the top to keep the oil inside. Bet you have seen it all the electronic have them.

Hmm.....I have to admit I didn't pay attention to my electronic when I redid it. Oil will sho nuff have to defy gravity to get up there!

Changing a flat on the Surekill back in July after match. Glad it happened where I could pull that far off and into shade.
Also glad the equipment for the match is packed in nondescript box and blanket.

Good morning again, at the hospital now, they put an IV in and some kink of drug to get to my hart.. setting in a waiting room with a sweet lady my age. Took a picture on my way in to the hospital, I took the short cut away from crazy traffic lines this morning.
