Stop in for a cup of coffee

Cold night here, windy as I have ever seen it in these hills, we are in for the next few days, my sons are enjoying some race car time, that rearend was sponsored by Dad (memike). 4 out of 6 chassis they have built are championship cars, not bad for my sons, his builds are Creeds Costumes, my younger son is Creed.
Proud to see my two sons working so good together.

Here is where they are at tonight

We just got power back, been in the dark for several hours. Nasty storm.

We all do the best we can in a situation and I'm gonna keep good thoughts going because bad thoughts and stress is far from helping anyone.
Well the good news is that while your son is injured, and likely has a long recovery, he’s still with you. Could have been way worse.

But here’s a good vibe story. So in early
June, my father in law had a rock shelf give way in what was supposedly marked as a safe zone. He fell 90 feet down the side of a limestone pit, landing all twisted at the bottom. Broken neck, broke back. He was temporarily paralyzed from the neck down. Docs gave him less than a 3 percent chance of ever using his hands again and a zero chance of walking. Not only is he using his hands(his fingers still need to come back but they’re slowly tending good), but he’s walking and has enough coordination where he’s now cleared to drive….

Good old dad, sounds like he wasn't gonna give up,
I like him.

One of my boys fell off a dump truck while working on it today. Fractured a vertebrate , one in his back and one in his neck.
Think I might just crawl in a hole for the rest of the year. 2023 I hope is a better year.
Oh no.

Sorry to hear that...

I hope he's going to be ok and heal up well...

Being the closest to the farm by a long shot sucks. But it is what it is

About 530 EST. It’s dropped FAST. Currently showing 12 degrees outside, stable sitting at 25, strawfort now has more around it, holding at 44 according to the digital.

I have my Ruck, my SAR vest and , Army issued Arctic gear with a case of MREs and a canteen cup.And a rifle. If the 101st can survive bastones conditions with none of that, I better be able to with it or I don’t deserve too.

I made it safely to the farm. Can’t see more than about 5 feet in front the car. Thinking about spending the night here. Hmm

The funny farm... :realcrazy:

Hemi is turning out to be pretty good at tracking horses up on our mountain in the thick woods. They spread out in the heavy brush. Not quite sure how an animal that big can be hard to see in the woods but they are. They stay up in the heavy brush I just leave them. No way to push four of them out. They are cagey! I wait till they drop back down into one of our pastures then gather em up. They are regular escapees and know the drill!

Glad it's a late flight today and I took the day off. One the to do list is clearing snow, replacing the cheap Chinese microwave with another cheap Chinese microwave cause that's all they make anymore. I usually don't buy extended warranties but did on this one, failed after 2 months, geeze. Gotta go buy another pair of pants too, been trying to do that but read above post, stores are closed early, everyone wants a snow day lol!

Buy the same exact model microwave as the one that broke, then in a week or two return the old one with the receipt with the new one and exchange it...

Then you will have a spare/back up one...

Not sure what is open/closed the next 2 days. I have work tonight yet before my 4 day weekend. Don't plan to do any more running around than absolutely necessary once the temp drops tomorrow. Hibernate and keep the wood stove burning...

Make sure to wear your hoodie properly when watching movies...
