Stop in for a cup of coffee

I mentioned stealing the granbrats to go to Vado Speedway for the Wild West Shoot out. 6 yr old says "I'll go get my ear muffs!". 4 yr old says "I have ear muffs." and holds up her earbuds  6 yr old says "Those are not ear muffs! We have to go to Harbor Freight to get you ear muffs!"
I started thinkin' earlier that I haven't taken the younger of the 2 granbrats to the track yet, so I looked up the schedule for Canyon Speedway. Canyon is north of Phx, rather it WAS north of Phx. The Az state entity that oversees/owns the property decided not to offer the speedway operators a new lease on the property, so Canyon is now just an abandoned facility in the middle of the no F'inwhere. :BangHead:

Did you get at the Dart today?
A bit. Nothing major to report. I spent most of it fighting this quarter fitment. The contours is the same as the drivers side but it’s like the whole thing is a 1/8 to 3/16 too long. Likes up perfect from the tail pained to the hump at the front but from the hump forward it measures long. Looks like my only option is gonna be a cut and splice which I’ve been trying desperately to avoid

I had to slice and dice a little on the firebird. Not sure why. Only way to make it right.

Got fuel tank, filler neck and mounts figured out today. Painted and ready to go in tomorrow. Just some wiring to do. I hope. Then we can hear it with the new mufflers and tailpipes.

The NWS and Weather Channel seem to concur for a change on our local weather. The fun should begin about 20:00 for 12 hours. Then a 12 hour break and begin again until Tuesday  From the models I've seen we appear to be on the southern bank of the river  Most of the activity will happen out there in the main channel/north of here.

So we found a stray hound on the farm, Jodi said no way when I suggested we adopt it. Look at her now! Hah! Looks to be a Shepard Mal cross. Tick infested rack of bones, maybe thirty pounds and six months old? and I think it has been abused and abandoned. It cowers non stop waiting to be hit. We have given her a bath and picked a million ticks off her. Then fed her. She was ravenous. Now Jodi is throwing out names we can call her. I suggested Poly! She said no way! Hah!

My brat gets a book for Christmas just about the time she's learning to read.

About a month later I hear an odd noise on the front porch.
"You gotta come see this." I says.
The brat and her mother come to the door.
"TOSCA!" screams the brat.
My wife melted on the spot
I had asked her about getting a cat numerous times and always got a very stern NO.
Tosca looked just like the cat in the book but kitten sized.
I didn't know where the kitten came from and didn't care.
She and I were buds but kitten knew to avoid the Mrs.

Speaking of cats. This little critter was nestled up in the corner of the gate outside of my house when I went out this morning. So I brought it in the compound and put it in a corner. Looks very scared. Came home from church, it was still there so I got some water and some food for the little sorry looking thing. We'll see what happens.

Home alone tonight. Chin went out to a New Year's celebration with her yoga friends. All women. No men. I was invited but I declined. Just got me some of that great fried chicken from here and I had some bacon already fried up. So fried chicken and some strips of bacon for dinner. Couple of beers. Lay back and watch a movie on Netflix. It's all good.

Morning people in pet land. We used to see an occasional stray cat when we moved in until a pair of foxes showed up.
Not much planned for today which is good I need a day like that.
Have a great day whatever you do.
