I hope so. I just have to change oil in both of mine for starters. I will adjust the valves on th 273 this spring and tune it up. I have new parts from Hoppy and after 10 years it might need a new set of plugs.

A bit of a plumbing project this morning. Just out of our water meter there is a leak. I am replacing it with soldered copper. It has been leaking for a while. Pics in a few min. I have everything shut off I can and am draining the system down. I know why they put valves in the system as long as they are exercised every 6 months. Otherwise they are useless if you can't move them to shut the water off.
Yup.... Or just snap off.

This "elbow" could be original to the house. (100 years old) The fittings were painted at one time. It ain't pretty. I might have to pull the meter to give myself enough room to swing the tubing cutter.

Never heard of issues with the 396's but i don't know anyone that ever had a stock cam in one.. the 305s were really bad bout stock motors having flat cams.

Friend's brother worked for the local bowtie dealer. A lot of R&R work on 396 cams.
