So out of desperation for a good chuckle I hit play on the screeching cats. by screech two I had two fur missiles at attention ready to destroy! Hah! These dogs are nuts! But just what I needed after dealing with VA all day and trying to buy a chain saw. It should not be that hard? They sell chain saws I wanted to buy one, seems pretty straightforward to me? But Nooooooooo, 18 year old sales associate who could not answer simple question like what is HP of saw or displacement? Who then turned me over to the seasoned sales associate of maybe twenty who explained to me as if I was an idiot That displacement did not really matter. Arghhh..

January '24 the only displacement spec they will have here will be how much water the electric chain saw displaces when you dunk it in a barrel of water :rolleyes: :BangHead::mad:

My Husqvarna chain saw finally gave up the ghost. It has given me twenty plus years of great service. Parts were going to be just over 200 dollars for repair. And at the end of that what will I need to repair next? If, and I do mean if, I can get the parts by summers end. How on earth is there a shortage of chain saw parts? How many guys today actually bother repairing them? Arghh. That is what led me to looking at replacing it. In essence I needed a new carb and a couple misc parts. six week wait on parts.

Yep. Ever since Covid things have been screwed up. Went frig shopping yesterday. Andy wanted a 33" wide and wanted a French door (freezer in the bottom drawer) with ice and water in the door. Only one in town. I was glad a private appliances store had one. $2800 and that was $500 off. Delivered, set up, and disposal of the old unit. One guy said that style are pretty much unobtanium for a year and a half or so. They were lucky to buy a few extras when they could. The manufacturers are struggling to catch up on the most popular models let alone build some of the more obscure models. Lack of labor and parts delays are the worst issues he said. The salesman was on the phone with GE when we walked in checking on a ordered unit from last August. It won't be built until November. Buy that saw that's on the shelf.

OEM parts are the same in the body shop and the new parts are not as good as they use to be.
No one cares to work and the ones that do work don't give a crap?
Don't know but not looking good so far.

Good thing the bourbon I drink was made at least 4 years ago.. There will be a shortage in a few years though. Remember when the distilleries made hand sanitizer a couple years back? :BangHead: :BangHead: :rofl: :rofl:

Yep. I wish you were closer. I have a couple small engine shops on my old route that could help you out. I dropped off my old Mantis mini tiller in the middle of snow blower season and said whenever you get it done. I got a call a few weeks ago. It was done. Yep, a new carb, plug and some hoses. $100 later but it was junk before and it was given to me. He sold me some of that 2 cycle gas too. It's supposed to help with the carb issues.
