Stop in for a cup of coffee

Today is a big day here as the counter tops will get installed today in everything but the kitchen. And I don’t have to do it! What I know about installing granite counter tops wouldn’t fill a thimble. All i know is they are heavy, expensive and you can’t make a mistake. Given those parameters I am not the guy for the job! Hah! They will set all the bath showers and laundry room today. The kitchen pieces are on a boat somewhere heading to the US. Eight weeks out.Arghh

Once upon a time I employed several thousand hispanic guys and girls (Big Ag) Today May 5, much like Good Friday, while not recognized by our Govt is in fact very recognized by the Latino Community. I always gave them both days off as Holidays. It was win win, I looked like a good employer and quite frankly I would typically have about a fifty percent absentee list for the day so what is the point anyway!

I have a new one in the box. A few years ago, a guy found six clearing out an old shop. I double checked it with @Mattax who confirmed they were what they were, and I bought two. I put one on my Barracuda and going to sell the other at Carlisle this summer. I can work something out for what I paid plus shipping. No hurry had it on a shelf for probably four years. Pics are available.
A-body Disk/Drum masters for '67-70 NOS or NORS, yes can be expensive. I think I paid 200 and now they are asking 300. That's from Kanter DBA as OldCarparts? on ebay. Drum/Drum are not nearly so expensive last I looked.
In fact I have a used drum master I'm going to give the guy with the '68 Barrcuda. I've just been too busy to meet up with him. Someone put a later disk/drum with booster on his all drum car. Nuts.

Ok that took me a minute, at first I was thinking WTF? as one of the common analogies in gun bunny world is while you are tying to control your pistol in the rain is that it is like holding a Dolphin dipped in mayonnaise! Took me a bit to get there but that is funny!

Keep it very quiet there today, until your installing crew gets busy, they may want music of there choice, and noon pass the tequila around, but just once

Its a big deal here in my town , a bunch of hard working Hispanics, today will be a big day and night for club owners and restaurants.

Well I'm stuck here today figuring out material sources, design and schedule for the high school kids.
That won't take the whole day but I have to be here to take a call.

Speaking of clocks like that, my mantel project is coming along. I should have it glued up today. Then all that needs to be done is the tounge and groove infil, and figure out how to hang it.

It's going to need four hooks of some sort that act like cleats.
Also the registers needs to be repaired.

This one I can fix.

The one behind the grill, not so sure. Don't have all the parts. Hopefully can find a good one that someone has saved.

Interesting arrangment.
The 'duct' is a plastered flue. Tinwork was plastered in for the registers and grills.
Here's the one salvaged with the mantel.

Wife brought home a "tile" from work (Allstate). She wants to put it on the puppy, all I could think is that's not going to help if an Eagle takes off with her or a coyote. I guess if she runs off into the woods so maybe not a bad idea, don't know the range or the ap or how it works.

Range is whatever Bluetooth can give you. I haven't read into it, but I think there's an ability to share with other devices that might be nearby?

If you want something for if she takes off/ is taken off into the wild then something active or satellite- based like a Garmin collar.

I just keep a collection of older tags on the dogs collar so I can hear her jingle. My grandfather used to put a sleigh bell on his bird dogs collars so they wouldn't get fired on when they were working the brush and tall grass.

Thats so friggin cool to see and hear this morning, I bet I have repaired 30 to 40 clocks in my life, doctors clocks mainly. That some cool history cuzz

Good morning
Reading the guarantee bond was super cool. You have to consider the time it was distributed (1930) and while not exactly true, they claimed to be the first electric clock on the market. Can you just imagine the push back and lack of faith consumers had? An electric clock? Why that will never work! The guarantee was written to dispel the mistrust of the consumer and to assure them they were taking no real risk. Literally an actual guarantee with no strings. Compare the wording in it, to a version of todays common guarantee and it is laughable. Kind of like our cars service manuals from yesteryear where they explain setting the valves vs today where it just says don’t stick your head in the gas tank!
