Stop in for a cup of coffee

I just got back from my pre-op appt. Sadly it looks like I am an excellent candidate to get a total shoulder replacement. I can’t even take so much as a multi vitamin starting tomorrow. So I guess Bourbon Scotch and Oxy is out! They told me to sleep in clean sheets and no pets in bed the night before. My little Mal is not going to take that well! And I have to wipe down with some kind of fly paper before going in! Any of you had a shoulder replacement done?
Lots of surgeries and 0ne part rebuilt more then once.
More then a few parts held together with plates and screws.
Best of luck to you on your procedure.

You forgot the shower/bath with special soap. Also don't man up after surgery and not take the pain meds. You'll be feeling good for a day or so with what they give you at the hospital. Take the meds they send home when you're suppose too. Don't and the pain monster will hit you full force and then you spend a day or two trying to catch up...not good I know.

Just a rebuild here, no replacement. I was told the same thing though, clean sheets, was with special soap, etc

It was also explained to me, it takes longer to heal when your body is busy fighting the pain. Take the meds!

I had a putty platt ?? done in 1986. Left shoulder. Kept popping it out of joint. I dealt with it for a few years until finally I gave in and had it fixed. Stan Levine that orthopedic surgeon for the Washington Redskins at the time did it. Was very painful operation and a long rehab. But I'm sure they already told you that. Now I think the repair is degradating because I have some pain in the left shoulder especially when I do pull-ups, dips and overhead work with weights. So I have stopped any shoulder and chest and arm exercise for a few weeks. Really pisses me off.

So, Marie's mom just had a knee replacement. Up walking on it same day. Just Advil. Crazy. You may be surprised on replacement vs repair, on how well they have it down.

Sumbuddy mention joint happiness ?

A right shoulder problem here seperated it three times. My shoulder workout has become light weight high reps.
Usually 20-25 pound weights 20 reps x 4 sets. Pushups either angled using a bar off a smith machine or off my knees going really slow.
Both seem to show good results or so I'm told.

Dude...had the pain med auto-injector run into the incision through a catheter...

Whhiirrrr ...... Click....... Aaaahhhh :)

When it ran out, i tried getting family to remove it since it was run through the incision on my back. No takers so did it myself in the bathroom. Mirror

Well Jodi just got the word, she landed a very nice promotion. More money, more everything. With exception of time, I got a feeling she is going to have less of that. I reckon it’s fair after all the years I have called home and said to eat without me. I did ask her if a new blaster for me was part of her negotiations. Let’s just say when she calls me Buckwheat it is not a term of endearment! Hah!

And somehow I'm not surprised.

Not replacement, had a bunch of bone grinding done, ball socet was wore and was pincing of blood flow and nerves going to my hand, I couldn't zip up right handed for a year before sergury, or raise my elbow past my nipple, after surgery, 55 minutes of that I had my elbow taped to misidentified for 3 days, therapy for 3 months two days a week, then one day a week for another two months, it fixed everything. And this has been 19 years ago. I am very thankful for Dr. Glenn Dixon, he was a sports dr for A state here and for razer backs foot ball a few times back in 1990.. keeping you and all the doctors staff in my prays cuzz, what hospital? ?

I will be picking up Ted at almost 6 and we are headed to Travis's house for some tasting. I am bringing 3 wheat whiskies some of the guys want to taste. We have a bottle exchange going on. Trav has one for me and I have two for him. We will also be tasting and rating the latest pick from Cedar Ridge. I promised a review from the group on Spirit Chasers. It's a double-barreled, Single Barrel pick. I think it's too oaky but the tasting panel will weigh in on that. It should be fun!

And you wonder why we are the way we are! Makes perfect sense to me!

While I was in town doing the Dr stuff I stopped at the big city liquor store trying to replenish my Mortlach 12 year. Apparently it is presently unobtanium! Arghh! ya can’t leave MT handed right? The fine whiskey guide gentleman told me to try this? I had never seen it before and got no idea? Hope you boys have a great time. What could possibly go wrong with you three involved?

So given the news today I am fixing her favorite meal. Elk blackstrap and garlic mashed potatoes. She is still in high gear at work so I gave her a teaser dish. Took it into her office and put it under her nose! She rocks. Smart girl, poor taste in men! Hah!

Never saw that one but worth a try. Ya, that Travis is trouble. I am olanning on tasting 4 or 5 tonight but Trav always set's up a dozen or so. I'll try to snap some pics.

So corvette guy’s other hot rod breaks down. No spark. Bad ign coil. All fixed,$100 in my pocket.
And third day in a row someone bought me lunch.
