Save the car! Save the guns!
Her truck is here. There is a nice rust free 95 Bronco full size there (OJ Simpson bronco) and 95% of her belongings. Unfortunately, the guns and such were lost in a boating accident years ago.

Didn't @Tooljunkie do that last winter for the tractor or something?
I have one, was given to me 5 years ago. It was old then. We park kim’s nissan in it during winter. Be mindful of wet, heavy snow, it needs to be knocked off. The south facing end is open, and it doesent fill with snow. I think its 24 feet long, most are 20.
I screwed 2x6 to the legs so i can drag it around if i choose.
The replacement canvas is almost as much money as a new one, i think this may be the last winter for it.

Winds this summer have been strong, shelter has moved a couple times, i keep forgetting to screw in the anchors, guess i should get on with it.
My 30x40 is well anchored and its in the open so no snow buildup.
One thing, leave the snow on the sides, it helps prevent buckling if it does get loaded with snow.

Anyone have experience with the temporary shelter/garage/carport things? Recommendation? I was thinking about one for the hot rod instead of just a tarp this winter. Originally I was going to keep it in the garage, but after cleaning yesterday, it seems I would rather have a work area to make working on the Charger this winter so very much easier.
I was looking at something like this.

Hey Eric

I dug around for some of the research I did about storage units.

Not sure how it translates to the material weight in the Amazon item... but reviews I had read indicated that something survivable needed to be in the range of 20oz material. I think this one is around 8oz... so according to my reading, expectation is less than a year with snow load and wind.... not counting UV deterioration

What weight is the material Frank? Do you know?

Go to work on diesel this morning. Nope, batteries dead. Hood up and hood light is on. Damn. So charge batteries, and do some cleanup around yard and shop. Hauled in 5 dead batteries, bought one new one for running all the junk around here.
Next load of gravel will be here shortly, then i can work on that.
Still planning my ballast box for the tractor.

I work on the old widows car across the street from me all the time. I think she's about 78 now. She keeps her cars in the garage but she also keeps bird food and fruit and junk like that in there. So she always has mice and snakes. In fact I have eradicated several snakes from her garage and or house over the years. She calls me and brings the car over. Says it smells funny when she starts it, is it Freon?. I started at about it an hour ago. No not Freon something dead.!!!!!! Pulled the cabin air filter and it's filthy. Pull the blower motor and squirrel cage expecting to find a dead mouse. Nope..... Dead snake. Lol.

She needs to find another place for the food or she may find a living surprise under her seats one day. You are a good egg for helping her out.

They musta figgered their edibles were going to harm the bear's health, so they closed parts of the park.

Camera's changed out, and located three game Camera's, I do this everytime we get away for a couple days, I will pull Vic in the shop, even have a camera in the shop set up.
I have not had any trouble from thieves in the last 8 to ten years now.

Can't help but think about our member thats getting things done before he has shoulder replacement, anything that needs to be done by Fall season I hope he is on it while we are having the best of weather.

I am trying Cuzz but I need to mow now as it takes three days to mow this place and I am hoping it is the last mow of the season. I got a dog run part way done and a myriad of other things half done. I finally decided I just simply was not going to get there and I got a for sure hard stop on 20th, surgery is 21st. I am using my arm like a 18 year old right up till then. They can have the parts plumb used up, swollen and angry! I got some meds coming (I hope) that will say I don’t care! When running the tractor I shift and steer left handed and run implement with right hand.pretty sure I can’t do it with just right hand? (Que Karl) I really thought I was very ambidextrous as I compete with both hands equally well but day to day stuff turns out I am reliant on left hand. I can write with either so that won’t be an issue. I have a huge pile of rocks I need to stack as well. Leaving them where they are is just inviting copper heads. I will get em come Winter now. I have two more holes I needed to Jack hammer for dog run but those are going to wait as well. I did get six posts sunk and concreted in tho. I got doors to paint holy smokes. I reckon there is just no good time to do something like this. Everything I read tells me the recovery is very long period. By same token they said that about the knee replacement and I was healed up way ahead of schedule. In theory the shoulder should be the same. I hope! We will soon find out!
