Release the Kragle

I looked at another dart today.

another 71 dart swinger.

probably wont buy it because it wasn't very exciting and I didn't get a happy "rainy" feeling about it, if anything I kinda want the front end sheetmetal but it's too nice to part out.

I had a thought when I was looking at it tho. where in the world are people hiding all the 4 door darts and valiants.

I really think they made a gazillion more 2 doors than more doors. All I ever find is 2 doors.

The popmobile and there is a really sweet red 73 4 door in the photo garage section, so we know they exist but I think the smurfs must be hiding them.

Crushed under the clunkers for cash program.

That's what I have! What are your plans for it?

Get compression near 9.2/9.3, medium street cam, LD340, 340 exhaust manifolds, and Holley 600 vac secondary with electric choke...

Just a street cruiser for the kid and he can take it to the strip once in a while. We're 30 minutes from Route 66 race track...

If we blow up an engine, I have a few spares that we can build to replace....

Anders, did you see the pic I did for you?
I sure did! Even commented on it. I think you're very good at this and I think the car looks like it's on speed. :D
Thank you very much!
I don't think that's the ones I will go for. And I'm thinking about setting the grille and headlights an inch or so into the front and darkening it all out. Not fully blacken out, just not so chromey. Besides, my trim is nowhere near the state of the car in our pic.
To think that my car will some day shine like that and be ... complete.

Why not higher in comp?

So that's the limit for your gas? Is that 91 octane?
We get 95 or - in fact - 98 unleaded over here. Not sure how much ethanol it has but I think it's 10%. Could be 20%. I've been told that the limit in static compression therefore is 10:1.

Some say that the demand for 98 is so low, however, that the stuff sits for too long in the tank at the stations, especially early in the season it can cause problems for hot rodders.

We can get 87, 91, and 93 octane at the pumps.

Anything more is considered "racing gas" and is 4x the price...

the 93 octane is almost a buck more expensive, so it's best to build a street engine to handle the crap 87 octane....

Here in Chicago, we are into the "summer blend" which is supposed to reduce smog, so we don't end up smoggy like Los Angelos, California.... It's an excuse for them to jack up the price on us....

Not to mention that Cook County loves to tax the gas, liquor, and cigarettes - they love those "sin taxes"....

They also raised the sales tax 1% this year...

Tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax, tax.....

Maybe like this?

Hey Rani, did you see that there is another female member in the welcome forum from Colorado...

She has some cool Mopars....

Hello I'm a gal with MOPARS
I like her 63 valiant that she has for sale.

if she still has it down the road when I go on another buying binge............

I am done with my binge for now because I am out of money, I ended up buying the 73 dart I looked at a couple weeks or so ago. it's a 73 dart 2 door hardtop, rust free, but missing some interior pieces.

Cheap body that I might put a slant in and maybe give it to a cousin or something. ......be cool to build another slant car. Makes me cringe when I see slant cars disappearing by the masses even tho I am guilty of it too. :realcrazy:

I just finished repainting the worn off lettering on my heater controls. I used a silver Sharpie to make them readable again.
