Stop in for a cup of coffee

my wife and I discovered a very nice place in Jupiter Fl. last year - bring your wallet AND credit card because you're probably going to need them! 100% - if you're going to go to a "special" venue (restaurant, vacation resort - whatever) go prepared to use the accommodations that are there.. that IS why you go there isn't it? that's what it's all about... paying to be pampered a little and NOT have to bring your stuff... Christ people are cheap..

I just finished one of my longest standing items on my to-do list. We have a room in the basement where we could almost fit two 90x200 cm beds (3'x6'8" I guess) at a 90 degree angle but not quite. One of the beds needed shortening by 4". So we've had foam mattresses in stead, cutting tat is pretty easy.
So last year I found two box spring mattresses for free on a local Facebook group. I went and got them and sawed one of them off right away. Then I started this elaborate carpenter thing to join the side beams back together without loosing too much strength. Did half of it and got tired of it.
I nudged them both in place without joining them a few months ago when we were having guests staying over. Without the legs, there is no need for a sturdy side beam, it's already laying on the floor.
But today I finished it Hooray for me!
Dammit, I miss the :eek:ccasion: smiley. The one with the party hat blowing on the ... what would you call it? Extending rolled-up paper ... honker?

Well, wine for a big wedding in a fancy place will be thousands of dollars. You don't have to be cheap to want to avoid that. The best way to do that, however, would be to accept your limitations and choose a less fancy place. Not pretend you can afford something you can't.

Woo-hoo! Good for you, Anders, getting back at it and finishing it, that is a great feeling.

And yes, I agree, we get the really rich people, AND we get the pretenders, that's exactly what I call them.

right on - sure, I would love to have the penthouse suite - but the very nice cool as hell room on the 5th floor will work for me - thank you

It is! For many years I've lacked the energy and enthusiasm to finish almost anything. That, on the other hand, is seriously destructive. Constantly seeing projects that are half-finished and things that need to be fixed but you just can't bring yourself to doing it.
Tip of the week: Don't get a depression.
Now I finish two or three (little) things every day!

Hey @Ddaddy, could you do me a favor?
I'd like to see what it would look like with these headlights on my car:

How's this?

get outta here! that is NOT the same car!!
Of course not. He asked what the headlights might look like on his car and gave me the color he wants to paint it. I found a picture of one in that color and added in the headlights.

Copy/Paste
Thought you'd find that interesting, at the very least !!
I'm sure that Ters is much more familiar with it than we are here in the US.

Pretenders.... Wanna-Bee's.... Etc.... :icon_fU:

your block has been honed... and it's a big one!

It will be soon...

That one is marked for the youngest kid's 68 Valiant. It's a .030" over 360...

As soon as we're done with Eddie's engine, that one's next...

We will "scratch" the cylinders with a quick ball hone before assembling it to knock off that surface rust and give the bores a nice finish for the rings to break in with....
