Almost no rust is like a little pregnant.
Talk about almost no rust. My 86 4 wheel Dakota has a little fuel leak. I peeked underneath today and didn't like what I saw. The frame is rotted but I thought it would last through the winter. Nope, the LF rear spring hanger is no longer attached to the frame. She isn't long for the world. :BangHead: :BangHead:

Need a priest for last rites, or an exorcist.

Well my husband doesn’t have to go to Kansas on Monday now, but he does have to go to Alabama for 2 weeks.

So the wife and I had a hog butchered. Used to do this every year until Covid when everyone and their brother overwhelmed the local butchers doing the same thing. So we butchered one on our own in 2021 and didn’t last year.

Had one butchered again. I’m shell shocked at the cost. I keep all my receipts and I pulled them to loo at previous years. In January of 2020, I paid 63 cents a pound for the live hog. 308 pounds or 194.04.

This month, 85 cents per pound live weight, 296 pounds or 251.60.

Not bad of an increase there.

But the shocker was the butcher cost. Same shop in 2020 charged 64.28 to butcher it, smoke and cure the hams and bacon, pork burgers, sausage etc. netted 208 pounds total

This one I picked up today…netted 200 pounds even. 267.63 to butcher it!! Freaking insane!

But that still puts me at 2.60 per pound. Not bad when locally ground sausage alone is 3.99 pound at the Walmart and bacon is 7-9 bucks per pound depending on. And Ham is on sale for 2.50 a pound currently but normally it’s 4.99

That’s a good deal considering the price of meats in the supermarket. My butcher charges 2.30 a lb for pork and 2.69 a pound for beef. When you consider the cuts you get it’s definitely a win.

For sure. Just wasn’t expecting that big of a butcher cost. I should have asked
