a: it's my property that I paid for, pay the taxes and insurance on.
b: if they ask permission, by all means, I'd says yes, its the one's without permission that are the problem.
c: most people in this area aren't just walking, they're there to poach fish, deer or even steal eggs from the chicken house and stuff from the garden.
d: if that's not what they're after, its to nose around my stuff and see what i have, which isn't anything super valuable but again, none of their business.
e: then you have the idiots who trip and roll and ankle that want to sue you since they were walking on your property and stupidly, the courts side with them 90% of the time or they settle with the insurance company which then hikes your rates.
We just shoot 'em in Texas...

Home now. Almost 2 hours later, what a mess. Tree leaves shreaded. Garden plants, flowers etc destroyed...

Good evening folks!

Long busy day at work today followed by replacing the front shocks on the GTS. The old ones were definitely toast and the new KYB shocks lifted the front by about an inch. That should more than enough kill the little fender rub I was getting on hard turns. The lift in the front made the stance even better with the total rake now at 2" with more height overall...

We also found the source of the engine oil leak! Yay!

It's the blanking plate for the mechanical fuel pump that was put on when the electric fuel pump was installed. It looks like it might be a little warped and it's leaking along the bottom edge. A new gasket and a hammer on the plate to make it flat should fix the issue. Will do that on Thursday when I'm off for the Memorial day weekend.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to having 5 days off for the Memorial day weekend to get some seat time and really shake things out with the GTS.

I'm trying very hard to get it to the point where I can comfortably do a 300 mile road trip without thinking twice about it.

Im glad you found the leak and it was nothing major, like mine. Enjoy the long weekend and just go for it, you only live once. Just think those adventures are memories your making!

Dang, talk about leaks. I still have a oil leak. Front crank seal and or oil pan and oil filter adapter.I need to pull the engine and reseal it. Not today!

Funny you say that, I have a slightly crazy idea of driving the GTS down to Mitch's place on Friday or Saturday to hand deliver the Aircraft prints he won in the Auction. It's about 135 miles each way and I can do it as a mix of pure highway and secondary roads.

It would be a great shake down run even though it would be a full day of driving. 2-1/2 hrs each way plus a couple of hours there. Leave at 9 am and get home around 5-6 pm.

That sounds very 'Ben' of you! Id do a roadtrip like that for a burger and beer.. and I'll bet Mitch could hook you up with both!

You Sir are my inspiration to go for it!

What's the worst that could happen? I break down and need a tow home? Then at least I would know where the weak links in the car are.

Of course, I am imposing myself on Mitch by thinking of this without talking to him first. I have no idea if he has plans that I might be stepping on...

I have to post this shot of my friend Chris at work. He's my "Speed Shop" guy who often does "house calls" for me and comes over and works on the GTS in my garage.

He owns a shop but because we're friends, he likes to come over after hours and help me out with stuff that my bad knees and back won't let me do.

I pay him for his work, but he does far more stuff for free than he ever charges me for.

Here he is searching for the mystery oil leak after the new shock install...
