Cold enough here to put a thin layer of ice on the lake. Told the wife her puppy made it out there pretty far, she about blew a gasket (I was kidding). Sometimes my humor judgement needs aligned lol!

I've seen some videos, crazy! Now getting out there for some fishing would be interesting, would love to put up one of them shacks or whatever they call them and give that a go

Hey Fred... ever pondered the concept of a trunk insert that would allow an oversized spare to look like it actually fits in the spare tire well?

I use the safety spare from a jeep fits right in.

Take the old one and bring it to a local rebuilder.
A lot of these newer alternators are easy to replace parts on so could be a DIY as long as the windings aren't broken.

Also my experience with OMIX branded stuff is right about the same as with Crown. Mostly rough, low quality finish and materials made in a far off land by people who don't care about such things.

Be glad you could get it from RA. I wanted to rush order some parts but their catalog struggles with the 4WD drivetrain stuff and it eventually became clear they didn't have the Timken bearing race. Of cours I can't get it locally the way I used to - so a cross country order it is. Hopefully I won't have to drive the Barracuda in the salt and ice - especialy in the city..

Did you try Napa? Their 4WD selection is about as vast as anyone’s. You can also try 4wheelparts dot com. They have stores all over but they’ll the only ones I can get body mounts for my w200 from.

Nope my car has a full size spare and it fits good. Trying to keep it somewhat factory.
