Stop in for a cup of coffee

So. Chopped up bottom of door pillar and cab corner. Porta-power and it moved. Happy about that. Brother showed up and i fixed up his canoe rack, where it was modified to fit a shorter truck. Hes done and gone away happy. Cut some grass, now i need to get wheels changed on kid’s car and have it ready to roll for 5:00.
Roll, as in on trailer to haul it into the city. I need a nap. Going to be a long day.

Do like I did when I worked the Chevron in the Mojave "When you head up Baker Grade or Tehachape Pass, turn off the AC, open the windows, and turn on the heater." Baker grade is an often used test area for cooling system suppliers and builders. 900' elevation to 4200' elevation in 19 miles. Summer time temp at the base is daily 110° June-September. Doesn't help that it's only 40 miles from Death Valley

Fuels and such, but also the speeds weren't the same back then. 55-60mph cruise. Now 70+. They weren't built to handle sustained speeds like now. Also, much more congestion on roads, add in 1000's in parade ish conditions - troubles. Also, many people don't test their systems. Oh it works great in town on cruise night - lets drive 1000 miles in 1000's of cars in stop and go traffic at best. The Power Tour is creating the perfect storm. I remember reading one time about Dream Cruise. It was said to pull your front bumper up tight against a brick wall, let it idle at 90° for an hour. If it doesn't overheat, you may be ok.

I just test using a big sheet of cardboard over the grille. Do the same

Trying to do the mental calculus on where that points at "fun"

The power tour? It’s a blast. I only did one leg of it in 2019. This year I should hit 4 of the 5 venues. The worst part is the traffic to get into the venue. That’s where the traffic jams occur. But the fun is in the route there, seeing old Main Street Americas, old family diners to try, burnouts encouraged by local cops and fans with no tickets(gotta be careful there), hotel parking lot on the fly car shows. And the best part to me, tossing out hot wheels to kids that line the route to see the old cars

We're here

Oh, and lets put a super heavy race clutch in for the street - because race car.... That would add to the fun too. And just cook in the sun, leg aching, sore knee, overheating and bumper to bumper traffic. I will pass

I did use the Heat Gun on Low temp.....Just a little of the silver color behind the decal game off. Think I can touch that up with a silver sharpie or light paint...
Just my 2 cents on removing a vin tag Mitch and putting it back on. You know it's the original door but the judge doesn't know it's the original door and can tell if it was ever tampered with unless you can make it look perfect. Don't know if that really makes a difference in judging a car or not if the tag is not perfect.

Well, looked at a car hauling Trailor today and drove 100 miles to look at it and told the guy I'll take it. No title. :BangHead:
Not buying it without a title. Pissed me off.

Judges can Kiss my *** !!!!

I have always tried to use the best heavy duty diaphragm clutch that I could for high performance since those are a little easier on the leg than the three finger style.

I have a mower like yours. Transmission is bad. A new transmission is $750.00 Found another identical mower with 200hrs, snow blade, weights, tune up kit, new blades, extra new belts for $1000.00. Now I have a parts mower that I hope lasts a few more yrs
Pete,

What transaxle does your mower take? I have two spares (TuffTorq-something or other) in the shed, as I upgraded my L110 to the larger transaxle about a year ago.

Found another car trailer for sale in Fargo for $2,500 WITH A TITLE!
Only need a 16' and 2- 3500 Axles or less. Old truck weighs 3,500 and is a short little ****. I'll look at it this weekend.

You should stop by for a visit

Exactly. The car manufacturers aren't all the dummies us experts make them out to be. After all their calculations and experience, they still test to the extreme. Jaguar had a car, or maybe it was two, that spend the summer in Death Valley and the Winter in the Upper Peninsula - and they're a small manufacturer.

Drag strip or a cruise night is not the same as an hour in the mountains or 16 hours on the interstates.
The worst part is the traffic to get into the venue.
That's one of the reasons I'm not into the car shows. Carlisle is quite a wait even at 8 AM, but at least it moves along. Englishtown was brutal. Never over heated on either but not enjoyable. Came very close on I-95 late one hot Sunday night heading back to NJ for work the next day.

One of the reasons I didn't make this Barracuda into a 4 spd. If I get a second one...

I think it is the ethanol in the fuel
Doesn't help. Although the MTBE reformulated stuff was just awful so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

Good reminder. I just pulled the car out of the garage and the tank is 3/4 full .......with winter fuel :BangHead:
Phooey.
Worst case I'll siphon it down. Very unfun.
