2 mile backup

Just got back home from a whirlwind training tour. Starting another one tomorrow. You boys and one girl have put up over forty pages since I was on here. That is a whole bunch of talk about nuthin. I finally got some tin hung on the range shelter. My boy showed mercy and came out to lend a hand. Ya just can’t hardly hang Tin by yourself.

So after my divorce from my first wife, I spent a lot of time living alone and going back and forth to Vietnam. A guy kind of gets set in his ways, especially the way I like to keep my kitchen. So since I was able to get my Vietnamese Wife and her Daughter to come to America last year, things have changed dramatically in my kitchen. Lol
I cannot believe the amount of dishes that they generate when they are cooking. Also, I cannot believe the amount of trash that they generate that needs to go out twice as often now as it used to be. Guess I will just have to get used to all of this. Lol

I can only imagine the bathroom wit two women

Of to the chiro this afternoon. I hope she can help with my Plantar Fasciitis. I can barely walk.

So what is that? "Back in the day" you didn't have that carnage. Hot-rodded motors?
Maybe but at the heart of it I don't think so. A hot rod and a factory engine have to produce the same power to move a vehicle at 60 mph or whatever.
I suspect its because parts don't match and the systems don't do what they need to do under all conditions. The more improvements that were made, the more likely this is.

That and you’re talking cars that are 60 years old in some cases. Engine technology that wasn’t always the greatest

Home from tire shop finally. Packing up Jeep and hoping to head out here in a couple hours

I rode 100s of miles in a 60s car as a kid and I don't recall any breakdowns. So it's not the technology... I'd say something more along the lines of what Mat or Tim... recent stiff. Fuels, fluids parts.

Hmm.

Could be it's own thread... but I know that after the 6th response it'd go all food fight

Fuels and such, but also the speeds weren't the same back then. 55-60mph cruise. Now 70+. They weren't built to handle sustained speeds like now. Also, much more congestion on roads, add in 1000's in parade ish conditions - troubles. Also, many people don't test their systems. Oh it works great in town on cruise night - lets drive 1000 miles in 1000's of cars in stop and go traffic at best. The Power Tour is creating the perfect storm. I remember reading one time about Dream Cruise. It was said to pull your front bumper up tight against a brick wall, let it idle at 90° for an hour. If it doesn't overheat, you may be ok.

Haha yeah. I remember as a kid the 84 dodge 318 van always overheating. Last time was on the trip Myrtle beach in 1992… needless to say, it got shot

I just test using a big sheet of cardboard over the grille. Do the same
