You can cheat and use this ham instead of Hocks. The ham is good but it is loaded with salt, fat and cholesterol. I think I'll look for hocks instead.Bean and ham hock? Yes please. View attachment 1716322491
I didn't do anything with the deck today.... Mowed leaves and changed oil in the Mazda. Then took 5 1gallon jugs of used oil down the road and dropped off. Theres a farm I assume uses it for heating. They have a big open plastic tote you can just set them in by the road. Easy peasy, out of my garage...Small deck, big deck? Where o where is a Karl when ya need one!

Yeah. I've seen those used oil heaters for sale now and againI didn't do anything with the deck today.... Mowed leaves and changed oil in the Mazda. Not sure what they do different than a regular heating oil burner. Guessing a different jet size, but biggest thing is it must be dirty AF to run.Yeah. I've seen those used oil heaters for sale now and again

A lot of shops use them here. They have a filter for the waste oil and it is under pressure. It sprays the oil into the heat chamber and blows air into it like a supercharger. Adjusted correctly they burn pretty clean. Not sure what they do different than a regular heating oil burner. Guessing a different jet size, but biggest thing is it must be dirty AF to run.
How are they affected by synthetic vs conventional?A lot of shops use them here. They have a filter for the waste oil and it is under pressure. It sprays the oil into the gmheat chamber and blows air into it like a supercharger. Adjusted correctly they burn pretty clean.
Of course I don't do myself any favors. Even thought about putting a mask on, but after wearing for covid so long, I hate them and don't wear when I really should. LOLWe could really use some rain. Friggin dust storm running the mower. Leaves mulched up to nothing, but damn!
I don't know for sure. Synthetic is still flammable isn't it? I often wondered about brake fluid and the like that get's added into the waste oil.How are they affected by synthetic vs conventional?
Typically they’re not.How are they affected by synthetic vs conventional?
I have been blowing dirt out of my nose after the last few mowing's. We die get a inch and a half of rain a couple days ago. More to come next week. Hope you guys out east get some too.Of course I don't do myself any favors. Even thought about putting a mask on, but after wearing for covid so long, I hate them and don't wear when I really should. I guess they are all flammable. Just figuring they are likely going to burn a little different. Figure it is not nearly as consistant as heating oil. Must adjust somehow so it aint running too lean or dumping smoke.I don't know for sure. Synthetic is still flammable isn't it? Most of them have close enough combustion temperatures it doesn’t matter. I’d be more curious about high temp hydraulic oils and some of the thicker oils than synthetic vs conventional burningI guess they are all flammable. One of my small shops had a small drip heater that really worked well in their 2 stall shop. It would drip oil into a firepot that looked like a cast iron skillet. A fan would blow the heat out into the shop from around the fire box. Simple and efficient.I guess they are all flammable. Just figuring they are likely going to burn a little different. I guess most of it gets blended by the time it hits the burner. But yeh, would be pretty extreme if it was mostly a thin hyd oil and hit a slug of gear oil...Most of them have close enough combustion temperatures it doesn’t matter. I called to have the Oil Recycler come and get my used oil. Have 2 , 55 gal drums. Used to be, they paid you for it. Now they want $75 to pick it up...I didn't do anything with the deck today.... Waist oil will burn in the older diesel cars and trucks and no smoke but it will run hotter than diesel fuel. I've tried everything in an engine even made my own fuel.I guess they are all flammable. Yea that time of year when it screws up my schedule.Don’t forget, daylight savings time changes tonight
Had a similar heater. Didnt like the dust in the shop barely made it a year. The one i just hung has sealed bearings. This one was $129 i think.. 5000w.. i woulda got the 7500w but that needs a 40a and i'm not running a new line, i'm gonna tap into my compressor plug below it.. i need to pick up some 10ga romex though.. can't find any around my house..
