pistons have a slight offset on the pin hole to help with noise/slap... someone started like 40 years ago saying if you put them in backwards they have less drag and more power!!! It's BS.. and when they do it with only 2 valve reliefs it makes for fun timesPoor Quality Assurance with that piston supplier, bummer. I was in a Mopar Resto shop in Olympia, shop owner showed me a customer supplied small block with all pistons installed "backwards", didn't know you could do that, different than what Nick was dealing with but made me think about it

Yeah.. i watch FBMP and 360s that are junk are going for more than running 440s.. it's insane.. i have a knocking noise that MIGHT be the alternator.. haven't looked too far into it yet.. pulling the dist to recurve it tonight, also wanna take a look at the bronze intermediate gear to see how it's doing.. I should grab another 318 block and 390 is before pulling mine.. i know my block is good though, sooo... no idea what to do. Hate to take the car apart with 30 miles on itIf you were closer I could fix you up with either a 360 or a 383
They don't do shortblocks due to people messing them up, only full motors.. it's no biggy.. i'm just lazy.. this motor was always a temp motor anyway.. i paid $300 for the engine, unknown miles/condition and threw a top end on it. didn't even look at bearings.. just wanted to get the car movable so i can work out **** then redo the motor, which is where i amThat sucks. Seriously add up the rebuild prices then compare with Blueprint, Cant beat their guarantee!
