yeah, its dads project. Found in France near the Rhine in 1991, along with a German one, both in a field, he managed to buy them from the French and import them. Now, you can't buy one for under 175,000, without the drive train.

Verry cool. Great gas mileage also I bet!
yep, if you measure it in gallons per second. top speed is 40mph, through 4 forward gears. I forget the exact ratio in the differential, but I know its in the upper 6s, I wanna say 6.70s

Not as good as the German tank

The German tank probably passes emissions better too lol
the German one has an 8 cylinder RADIAL diesel engine. the German one though has a 2 inch armored plate and weighs in just under 22.5 metric tons, without fuel, which capacity was roughly 150 gallons.

in comparison, the American one, 50 gallon capacity and weighs 7.5 tons with only 3/8th inch armor

i remember the first fall we had these, we had the german one up and going, complete with the Iron cross and the SS still painted on it(still is to this day too, gotta stay original), it was opening day of deer season and we had some poachers crossing our fields trying to hunt our woods. Dad rolled us right up on to them, needless to say, they never came back

Would have been a bit of a challenge for the Ram to tow it home, then?
actually, no. you would have thought but we towed it 65 miles from the depot to home with an 89 Ram 350 with the cummins diesel and a heavy equipment trailer. Fastest we could go was about 50 mph and somehow DOT never stopped us. We did bend the trailer with that though.
