Stop in for a cup of coffee

That should be really interesting, post pics. Taking it easy today myself, Yesterday was a bit rough on the old bod.
Will do
trying to cut weight?

yes and no. the factory dash complete is almost 40 pounds, a fiber glass one can get as low as 8, but it's more for the custom gauges I'll be running plus the fact my factory dash has more holes and cuts from the previous owner installing switches and cheap gauges than swiss cheese. plus im gonna modify it some too.

Figured you have to mod it quite a bit. If you actually duplicate original, I wouldn't expect to save much. I'd be interested to see what's left for a full dash to only weigh 8 lbs - a few gauges hanging on a bracket?

and working with fiberglass SUCKS
I remember helping my Dad build a 21ft Kit Sailboat in the 70's. Wheww What a mess with fiberglass. I remember one time... Dad had that glass and gell all over his hands... And he needed to take a leak... So he called for my Mom to open the door for him and take him into the bathroom to HELP !!

nice - now we see where you get the "oh, honey - can you come here for a minute" thing..

so that landscaper totally blew me off.. not even a phone call!! I just called another local place - probably a bit more expensive (bigger co.) and they can't even come give me an estimate until Oct 4th... maybe it's a good sign that they are that busy...

I tell ya... It's hard to find anyone that wants to work around here also. Had a heck of a time gettin a Framer to frame this Lean To.
But.... The trusses arrived last week, and I just got off the phone with the Framer. He is coming on Wed next week to do it. The rest of my lumber package will be here on Monday.

nice! yea - what gets me about this guy is that I have done business with him/them before... hopefully it's not because something happened to him...

I plan to do as much of the site work as I can - but when it comes to the final product, I want a professional in there

speaking of work - it looks like a kickass weekend coming weather-wise - I see house scraping and painting in my very near future..

Yup.. I feel ya. I have always done my own Building projects... But I'm gettin older now.. and this one is pretty high up. Bout 15 ft up on the side of the building where the ledger board will go..

oh - while I was on vacation I scraped and painted the upper section of the back of the garage (the peak is a solid 20ft up) - stood on a ladder for about 3hrs... I was fine-- until the next morning, my calves tightened up and OH MAN - I could hardly frikkin' walk! LOL - oh to be 20 again!

actually no, i weighed mine without the factory gauge cluster or bezel. that 40 lbs is in the dash frame, the heater controls, glovebox (that glove box lid is over 5 lbs itself) and dash pad mostly.

I figure with the gauges, wiring and fiberglass, the one i make should come in around 15-20 lbs.

yea - fiberglass done right can get a tad heavy - if I were to redo the one in my car I would probably go with something like this JEGS Performance Products 70800: Aluminum Dash Panel Overall Dimensions: 60" Wide x 12-1/8" Deep x 4-3/4" Face Height | JEGS

I just had some chicken enchiladas.

I told the waitress lady .....give me the hottest chili you have. I mean max heat and spice....I mean like 440+6 kind of spice.

Nah.......it didn't have any ooooommph.
