Stop in for a cup of coffee

i need advice. we have 2 old grain bins we arent and havent used in probably 15 years. I'm thinking it'd be cool to take one down, move it and attach it to the house we're building next year and turning it into a multi-story man cave
I've seen where folks have made houses out of them. Looked pretty cool. I say give it a whirl...

or cut it in half and make a crazy 8 man cave...

Go for it right next to the deer field and put shooting ports in it! Or a punt gun on the top that rotates and has a laser pointer!

Would make a cool man cave... Or an awesome playhouse for the kids..
i was thinking, its 40 feet tall. about 32 feet diameter. bottom level- kids room, mid level-man cave, top level- hot tub and sky view with skylights and windows.

ours looks like this, different brand but still, you get the idea

The top floor hot tub sounds cool,, but that's a lot of weight and how would you get it there? 800 sq ft per level.. maybe bottom floor - garage, 2nd - kids, top - mancave.

oh its easy. First, the top of grain bins are litterally clamped on, simply remove top, insert tub, clamp to back on. What the people building them into houses do most of the time is have it welded shut, I wouldn't. It's already air/wet tight with the giant clamps and it's double hull, unless you take a direct hit from a tornado, it ain't coming off. and even still, I've seen tornadoes hit them and the tops stay on and the bin sheer in half.

anyway, as for the weight, it'd be no different than a hot tub sitting on a upper deck on a balcony, as long as the floor is designed for the weight, IE 2x12s or even steel trusses,

Looks like it's me and the pup for about a week. Wife decided to go visit her Dad in Florida. Grabbed a bag and started driving...

that is cool when everyone leaves ...then underwear can be your only wear (in the summer) and it's pizza time ...a whole pizza and 12 pack of dew to yourself.

yup, life can be pretty sweet when you are solo.
