Stop in for a cup of coffee

So Mr Karl.

Got a question for you, being the how to guru, is there a way to by pass the entire wiring harness that runs inside the cabin of the polara to run the engine? 64 converted to Electronic ignition

wow, nice to get all my chores done and still have a bunch of time left.

The cows were happy this morning

Good morning Coffee crew
Good Morning Rani and all yous' guys!

Time to brew up a pot.

I think it can be done if you can energize the input side of the ballast resistor and get power through the engine circuit...

That would be a good question for Del...

im thinking to get it to run, all i really need is juice to the coil, the brain box and the ballast resistor, I can bypass everything else and just jump starter with a screw driver?

I would think it would be easier to put a points dizzy in and energize it the simple way. who knows how they modified it and you have to ask yourself, What caused the electrical fire in the first place.

Yep, and if you feed 12 Volts into the input side of the ballast, you should accomplish all of that at once... The ballast connects to the brain box and coil...

Try making a jumper wire from the batt + to the input of the ballast and jump the relay to see if you can get it to fire up....

Cause of the electrical fire is usually someone who THINKS that they know electrical wiring, but don't....

right, that is what I am saying. that is a 64 that would have never had electronic ignition ....so how is it set up, is it even set up right for electronic ??

that's actually not a bad idea....... any idea where i can get a points dizzy for a poly head

you know, i bet you're on to something. according to ben(my buddy's brother who was the original owner of said car), it was converted when the rebuild was done, which makes sense considering a month later it caught fire.......

But if you are just trying to start it up you will be standing there. If anything starts to get hot or smoke shut er down

If it run for a month before the fire to run it for a few minutes will not hurt. And if the fire is in the dash I doubt the electronic ignition had much to do with it. Could have but unlikely

Good morning, Deer hunters woke me up this morning. We are having t-shirt weather again today.
Good morning, Pete!
I noticed that you are having Indian Summer like Keith told me about. Wish I could spend the day with you!
