Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good morning! Happy Anniversary Stan!

Day off, hoping the coffee will kick in soon. Had the pleasure Saturday of seeing chyer Cal and his son, and Cal's '72 Duster AND their '67 Firebird 4-speed they restored to showroom condition. Also met FABO member 1973Barracuda Jason, super cool die-hard Mopar fan. I have a few pics to share.

Sorry Karl about your parts troubles but at least you own a Mopar:sad7:

It was a great time, the fellow with the '68 Fury 4-speed convertible was there too. It's always fun to drive over the Charleston harbor (google Ravenel Bridge.) It can feel lonesome living out here sometimes but it's a million times better than life in Atlanta! I guess we are never satisfied!

Here's a few pics, a rain shower disrupted things a little, and I was negligent not to take some better ones of Cal's son James' Firebird. Mariner Turquoise is the color I believe. Cal did some very smart mods to his Duster, wider police axle, police exhaust manifolds, to name just a few, and did it all himself. Also the paint he did with the roller technique, it looks better than a regular bodyshop paint job.

Good morning Mitch, Looks like another day has arrived in FABO land :coffee2: Cheers :coffee2:

I spent 4 hours yesterday working on my Coke Machine. Quit makin cold about a week ago, and that's no good because it also holds the BEER ! I pull it out from the wall where it had been for 15 yrs, and scrubbed the back and sides of it ,and the filthy floor. Then I pulled out the refrigeration deck. Scrubbed out the inside of the machine. Pretty cool the way they designed it. It can all come out in one piece. Compressor, evaporator, condenser. Found out that I can buy a completely rebuilt unit, already sealed and charged up for only $285. Ordering one today. Got to keep the BEER cold !!

I did not know this, I bet that is an old one Mitch, only 5 different kinds to choose from looks like... Very nice Beer chiller :coffee2:

Just thinking out loud here, but after cleaning the coils and letting more air flow threw it does it get cold now ?

Yeah, the machine was in one of my Parts Stores. Coca Cola lost track of it when we made a move across the street years ago. I think the Machine is a 1970-1973. Coke came and repaired it in the store probably 25 years ago. I brought it home to my shop when I sold my business to Carquest. Here is a better pic of it.

Nah. I think the compressor is bad. Tried that. You can see the complete cooling deck removed from the machine in one of the pics I posted. Gonna order a new unit today.

Cool Coke machine Mitch.

We once stumbled on an old Pepsi machine that took the old 8 oz bottles, where you pulled them out yourself. We eventually scrapped it in the 80's as it was just taking up space back then... Too bad we still don't have it now.... Now they are repro'ing the old bottles but they are expensive.

I'm back now. Just ran to Subway to get the kid a sandwich for lunch before he goes to work...
