for about $350 you can buy new axles... another 100 and do green bearings.. lose the original adjuster set up
OK, I am a dummy on this. Never did anything with axles other than change gear oil. What are you adjusting? Does any of this apply to my little 7-1/4? I know Green is/was a brand name, but what is different about them? (Other than they are preferred by tree huggers.lol.)

*.25 has side adjusters to get the side play right, The only ones I ever messed with are 7 and 8.

this is great - we get requests for work via the web (it basically an email program) - this just came over - UnF**kReal..
Women's Restroom, third floor, Faculty reports an issue with the
first stall in the women's restroom, Specific
problem (leak, won't flush, etc.) was not included in the report.

Do the Greens work with stock axles or does that need to change too. I'll have to look at this in my FSM. As said, just never messed with it....

actually - let me check that.... with the stock axles you would have to leave the thrust spacer in there.. I think that is ok though - it simply takes up space between the axles.. the green bearings are essentially "fancy" retainers for the axles...

we dispatch the calls to a tech - telling them to "go check an issue" just doesn't float
I'm a one man show here on maintenance. A few intelligent words describing problem can help. But, most times people don't know enough to tell you what's really wrong anyway. So, unless I can talk to the person reporting it. "please check problem" is often just as good as a long explanation of things they don't understand in the first place.

huh - yay or nay on the look...
