Stop in for a cup of coffee

Tell you what this site is great, put up a needed junk dizzy post and got what I need for shipping!

Well time to get ready to meet Keith and have a adventure to Wolfies! Later all.

Well, no heater box so far. Did manage to break my AVS some more.

When I took it apart I blew compressed air into the check valve in the lid that lets in air to some port of some kind, making the ball inside jump to the top of the spring. I realized I wouldn't be able to get it back to where it belonged without damaging the ball seat, so I took it out and apart.

Does anyone know where to get hold of a new one? And the plug that goes over the adjustment screw.

These are the parts:

Sorry, uncharted territory. I have kitted a lot of carbs but I am unfamiliar where those parts came from.

Let me look in my parts carbs, and see what I can find.

Wow! Great!

One thing, though. I actually managed to fix the check valve so all I need is the plug. I might be able to make one from alu scrap, so no big issue right now.

This is what the check valve looks like when in place:

This spring loaded adjustment screw has a conical end that fits in a hole in the back of the check valve.

It goes in the other side (outside of carb) like so:

Then there is a flat plug pressed in over the screw to seal it.

In the last pic you can see one of the brass screws holding the choke flap is missing. Does anyone have one? I think the thread is 4-40?

Anders, you really don't need to plug that adjustment hole. Many manufacturer built Carbs with plugs where adjustments are, to keep novices from changing adjustments. You will often find plugs in the idle/air/fuel adjustments. This is also mandated in some areas of the country by the EPA in years past. Better off to just leave the plugs out, so you can fine tune your carb, at will.

Some cool shots from my us 50 cruise this morning
