Stop in for a cup of coffee

Works for what?
Now the really cool thing it does, it boosts the oxygen carrying capacity of your red blood cells so it's a performance boost that is truly organic. I made my own last weekend out of some fresh beets and a juicer

Ummm...no, it doesn't. Remember what I do for a living?

Those claims are complete BS. Your blood cells carry all the oxygen that they are designed to carry and nothing will change that. You can add more blood cells with EPO or naturally by living at high altitude, but you cannot increase the oxygen carrying capacity of them...especially not with beet juice.

Yeah, we pharmaceutical scientists have completely missed that natural wonder called 'beet juice' that we could turn into a billion dollar drug...ummm...no.

that was it, Mad Chemist!

Anders, you really don't need to plug that adjustment hole. Many manufacturer built Carbs with plugs where adjustments are, to keep novices from changing adjustments. You will often find plugs in the idle/air/fuel adjustments. This is also mandated in some areas of the country by the EPA in years past. Better off to just leave the plugs out, so you can fine tune your carb, at will.
Thanks Mitch! That sure helps a lot!

You still up, Chris?

We went to a very pleasant 40-year birthday party last night. Today is 50-year lunch for my BIL. The crazy life I live ...

Hi Rani!

Yes, I expect there to be cake. Or I will leave.

I finally put my AVS back together. I think I will put the thing on my car and see how it runs. Adding a lot of unknowns since I have a new intake also, introducing lots of possible vacuum leaks. On top of the probably totally maladjusted carb ...

Need new needles first, though.

Hi Ray!

I'm still a little confused about the choke arrangement but who needs a choke, right?

It's a little worn in spots, too, so I'm afraid it'll still be an old carb after all this work. Funny, that.

If you want to increase the oxygen carrying capacity of your blood cells, take up swimming...

Our biology teacher in high school said that he can tell the swimmers in season when they did some blood test experiments because their blood is darker red because they hold their breath and the blood increases it's oxygen holding capacity...
