Hey the guy is looking and prob grabbing that sun tester today.
OK let me know when you want to take a trip. Wife made plans for Tues. Still figuring Klingers in there somewhere. Trying to reserve most of these nice days coming up to work on the Duster. So, if we can use a 'less than great weather' day for the trip....

Sure we can, find out tonight exactly what is going on, actually he said he is about a hour and a half away off of 80.

Good morning

I am going to order the new rod and main bearings today. There are quite a few pages of bearing selection on fleabay.

I was thinking to use cleavage bearings like the old ones that were there

MAIL LADY IS GOING TO HATE ME TODAY THAT PARTS CABINET IS AT THE P.O. ALONG WITH A BUNCH OF DIZZIES TO CHECK OUT FOR MEMBERS, AND I WILL BE OUT MOST OF THE DAY!

Cam bearings are not really around. Don't people replace them in any kind of rebuild?
Usually a good idea, if you can measure the inside dia (if you have a micrometer that long) and see if they are good or not. I always change them.

Here is my min, rod, main and cam bearings, piston rings, freeze out plugs after it is boiled out and checked for cracks head also., rings, a good full gasket set and timing chain, if the cam is good I re use it but new lifters if they are hyd.

I have been putting petcocks in the drain holes lately just to make it easy to change the antifreeze.

That was one of the main things missed on a previous rebuild of my motor. Crank bearings were perfect and babbitt
was falling off the cam bearing. Got a set off ebag that was obviously sitting on someones shelf for a very long time.
