Stop in for a cup of coffee

Our high was 63° F yesterday...

Been cool and rainy for the last few days...

The new girl member's car has been at my house all week and we've not been able to work on it because of the rain. We're going to try today...

I am taking advantage of the hot weather because paint materials work very well in the heat.

Today shop is closed, I need to clean up the place before going any further on the car ......the sanding dust make such a mess OMG. there is sanding dust...EVERYWHERE!!!

I need to re-group and clean up so there is no tripping on anything or tracking sanding dust into the house lol

Some guys used to spray down the garage with a hose after doing the body work to help get the dust under control before painting...

Glad she found one of the members I would recommend anyone to.... there are too many pervs here that I would warn her about. But a cute teddy bear from Chi-town is what she needs.

If she gets to drive the 65 dart wagon......I am going to be jealous. That car is making me want an early A wagon and that is saying a LOT!!! from someone who didn't like early A's.

from the time I am done with the body work to actually spraying will be enough time to clean all the dust out. I am going to need to wait till the next payday to finish. #-o

Thanks.

I hate that some of the mechanics have been taking advantage of her.

We're going to replace her fuel pump. I would also like to make a new fuel line as I see hers has a slight kink near one of the bends. I could make a better one with a couple of tries.

Then she has new leaf springs for the back.

I was looking at the front end and underhood yesterday. It has new strut rod bushings, but someone messed up the shock install. they have the large one piece original bushings under the two piece style on both sides. One side has nice rubber for the two piece bushing, the other is dry rotted and cracked. the original one piece rubber bushings are both dry rotted and sandwiched in the middle. O'reillys has bushings listed on their web site, It would be good to replace them with a fresh set and get the old one piece rubber ones out of there...

Overall, it's a real nice car, just a few small nuisance items to get straightened out. :violent1: :violent1:

I am having so much fun with drill bits and trying to make tools.

I wish I wouldn't have let my family pick my major and I should have gone for Mechanical engineering.

I want to learn everything I can about machine shop and that kind of thing ....I love bolts.

I guess hindsight is 20/20 .....my family didn't force me but I grew up doing what others told me to do, and I kinda resent that now.

Rani, I hope you paint better than I . My stuff looks good at 15" or farther! Just did some silver on the tikey truck and it almost looks like the flake floated out of the paint but at 15" it looks.......

You would make a great engineer.

You can always go get a degree when you can get a chance...

I have painted cars before ....my biggest problem is getting runs in the clear or topcoat. I need to be more patient and do it slower to avoid that.

I don't know why I feel rushed every time I pick up a paint gun. That's why I like doing body work and prep better because I can take my time and check it over 10 times before moving on.

This is looking pretty good this morning on the bay.

a new toy

The tikey truck is almost there, did some pics a few pages back. Today new rear brake cylenders (broke the bleaders) and the tank filler rubber so I can weld the seat mounts in if I can get it done. I have my daughters boyfriend coming over to finish putting the panels on the shop walls that I stopped doing when I fell ill 6 yrs ago and he also has a rot spot on his van he just wants to grind out and fill so I told him I will teach him how, some many things, so little beer!
