Stop in for a cup of coffee

Mitch has not reached the age of 60 yet or he is close and I am 64 and 68/69 I was in 9th grade. By the time I graduated the draft had ended. Then we were out by 73 I think

Sets a very dangerous precedence.
It does seem to say something about the condition of this Country. And add to it the disrespect of the National Anthem and now to be a traitor and walk free. I am buying more ammo....LOL

Your memory isn't a reliable source...
No no it's not. That's something that'll be discussed in depth next Friday with the doc too. My dizzy spells and memory issues are getting more frequent.

What is the bird dog ruling?
The traitor who got members of his own unit killed after he defected to The Taliban in afghanistan several years ago. He was given the lightest sentence possible today. Discharged and let to go free

Sets a very dangerous precedence.
I don't think so for 3 reasons.

The first reason is the five years Bergdahl spent as a prisoner of the Taliban.
Bergdahl mounted a number of escape attempts after which he spent years confined in a cage suitable for an animal. He was tortured, beaten with thick rubber hoses and copper wire.

The second is his diagnosis of schizotypal personality disorder. Some evidence for Bergdahl's strange mindset is provided by his observation to the podcast "Serial" after he was released by the Taliban that when he had left his base in Afghanistan he believed he was on some kind of "Jason Bourne" mission. Moving around alone in Taliban areas in Afghanistan, Bergdahl proved an easy target for Taliban foot soldiers, not some kind of action hero.

The third reason is that Bergdahl provided useful information about the Taliban to US intelligence agencies when he was debriefed.

There are mitigating circumstances in every case when it comes to sentencing, it's not an absolute black-and-white interpretation of the law. In this case, I can't complain that the man got away easy and while his sentence could have been harsher, no further justice would have been served by making it so.

And now they will write a book make a movie
And he will make Millions.
This country is doomed.

Doesnt bring back those who tried to find and free him that he put in jeopardy.

tell that to the families of the dead Americans who were killed after he WILLINGLY left his post, stripped off his own uniform and gear and doned traditional Muslim clothing........ that fucktard even gave the taliban information about our convoy routes and base security. He never should have been traded for and he damn sure shouldn't have walked out of that court room, he deseves the death penalty.

And on a lighter note, this is what poor people flipping cars looks like. Finally coordinated sale of the duramax.

Nor will a long prison sentence. 5 years captive by the Taliban makes 20 years in a military prison look like a cake walk.

Nothing can undo the damage done to those that searched for him...and those that laid their life on the line to do it are true heros. But punishing the man further won't change anything, nor dissuade anyone from doing it again when they have similar mental issues. Nor will this verdict dissuade the heros of the future from risking all to rescue them.

Justice is pointless without mercy. We cannot become so cold that evil wins another gain on our humanity and makes us one step closer to the ideals of those we fight.
