There's more money on the collision side is part of it. A good tech or painter can do 6 figures+ a year in the right collision shop on flate rate/commission.I stopped in to my friends restoration shop the other day. He has a 30,000 foot shop and they do it all there except re-chrome and engine/rebuilds. He usually has 20-25 cars in at one time for various jobs from small to total frame off restoration. He's done trucks and motorcycles too. His shop has won over 200 national awards, and been featured in 30+ car magazines. Great shop, great people, great town to live in and have your kids grow up.
He has a small crew. He'd like to hire more, but says he can't find qualified skilled people who want to work. I guess its a generation thing, or the old car restoration skills are not an interest to them?? What do you think?? Do we have a problem looming on the horizon??
Just turn around when you need to make a right.Break time. Limping the truck home 90 miles via backroads. Trying to do all left hand turns is slowing me down lol
Believe it or not, that's how I got out of the parking lot. 8 point turnJust turn around when you need to make a right.
Go figure, my unit is still trying to tell me I have to find a way there.
"That unit will NEVER fit in there"! is what she said! That's what she said...
