Never seen those before.

I was a little surprised this one was toast. Relatively new (5 years). Brush end looked dirty but OK. Opened the other side and could see all the insulation was deteriorated and falling off. Can see copper on windings...

The other one is great for chasing shorts run it along a harness and you can see the direction of the short when you pass it the needle either flips or goes crazy. Had them since the late 70's.

The milton works on the same principle, its small.
I just need to test the draw on the solenoid. Blowing his 40 amp ign fuse. I was hoping for the whole truck, he pulled starter instead. Makes me happy, they are heavy and difficult to get out.

Guess i’m calling in a favour from the parts guy. That is if he has a starter. I can check store stock from my desk....i never ask them to open the store, but he always said if i need anything to call.

Sure you will see the issue when it is apart, starters and alts are pretty simple with a meter.

Yup, my first good experience chasing a short, circuit breaker on battery pos and the tester would point in direction of the draw.

I have one customer, road construction guy that brings me his starters to fix. Most times they are dirty and need a cleaning.
No big deal.
Getting parts used to be easy, now not so much.

I have some mopar nos brushes and holders if ever needed. Came with a lot of ignition parts I bought.

Those were made by milton.
MT in the part number indicates that.
The snap on pliers with part numbers starting with CH are made by Channel Lock. True story...
I know all there wrenches and socket stuff is made by New Holland, met a guy that works there.

That reminds me, i need to hunt up a starter for the barracuda....

Mac/Stanley made Snappy's plastic dead blow hammers for decades. Speaking of hammers, you guys know what this one was designed for?

Pistons?
I have seen similar ones used for driving pins in steel work.

Morning....already been to the other coffee shop. Spent well over an hour talking to one of the guys about his recent purchase a 1969 Barracuda convertible. Its basically all done. He was always a Ford guy, came across this car by accident and bought it.

Off to the gym, got to keep up with Ray.:) Ray loved the pic of the old house. My old GF's family was from Ark City. I made a few trips down there years ago.

Guess I'm late to the party. You guys sucked up the coffee and headed outside. Oh well, at least I get fresh coffee...
Good Morning
