So would one need the shift paddles and column then?
Sa=stand alone. It is a Mopar Performance part. The autostick is part of the console shifter, no paddle shifters required. The SA TCM allows the NAG1 trans to operate either as a normal automatic or be shifted manually, just like it was from the factory. The TCM controls both modes.

So one would have to run a console shifter than from a charger ? Or could one rig up their own shifter some how

All you need are the switches. The police cars have the autostick function on the column.

I would use the console shifter just to make life easier.
 
Some people choose to use the 42RL transmissions since they are not computer controlled but give you an over drive. No manual shift feature though.
