didn't realize how close our local Sears was to locking the doors. Barely any merchandise left. Selling the fixtures...

ours closed a couple years back. When they did, no sale, no notice, nothing. They came in, closed the doors, stripped everything out and shipped it elsewhere.

Last time I was in a couple months ago, you could tell they were depleting stock. I heard they were going out, but didn't know it was near done. No big notice that I saw. guess they figured (correctly) that word of mouth was enough. More people in that place today than I have seen in a long time.

sears screwed up majorly taking on Kmart. otherwise, they'd likely be doing ok

I thought Kmart bought Sears, or somebody bought both. regardless, Both sinking ships.
We just got thru studying this in my MBA class.

it was actually more of a merger. Technically, Kmart bought Sears, but Sears footed the bill to cover Kmart's existing debt. It was a weird deal, Sears Holdings became the name, Kmart went bye bye quickly. Part of the deal was for Sears to spend it's capital, some 6 billion buying back shares of it and Kmart's stock. Which it did, but took the money for maintaining stores and inventory to do so. Essentially, it was a giant wtf cluster **** from the outset.

@Old man ray

Delta’s Hailey Williams advances to semifinals in Junior Olympics track

FAIRBANKS — Delta Junction’s Hailey Williams, a three-time winner at this year’s high school state meet, advanced to the semifinals of the girls 200-meter dash in the AAU Junior Olympics Track and Field National Championships at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

The incoming junior placed 19th overall in 25.12 seconds Tuesday in the 200 dash preliminaries for the girls ages 15-16 division. Williams, who is competing for Eagle River-based Team Alaska, was among the top 24 finishers who advanced to today’s semifinals, which will be at 9:15 a.m. AKDT.

The top eight finishers in the semifinals race in the 200 finals at 11:15 a.m. AKDT Saturday, the last day of the eight-day Junior Olympics.

Williams competes in the 400 dash semifinals at 11 a.m. AKDT Friday. The 400 finals are set for 9:45 a.m. AKDT Saturday.

She competed Monday in the 100 dash preliminaries, placing 17th in 12.16 seconds to qualify for Wednesday’s semifinals.

She finished 19th in 12.58 in the semifinals. The top eight qualified for Saturday’s finals.

Williams won the girls 100, 200 and 400 races in the combined Division II category of the Alaska School Activities Association/First National Bank Alaska Track and Field State Championships in May at Palmer High School.

The Junior Olympics marks the second Outside meet for Williams this summer. She placed ninth among 32 finishers in 11.95 in the 100 dash at the New Balance Nationals in June in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Her finish was a personal best and she is only the second Alaska girl to finish the 100 in less than 12 seconds. The other was Starlett Jackson, of Bartlett High School in Anchorage, who posted a hand-held time of 11.8 at the 1981 state meet.

Williams’ time at the New Balance Nationals was electronically recorded.

It likely wont be open by the end of the year.

Closest Sears is at least 5 miles farther
same with this one.

combined, they have about 800 store, twice the number of sears stores as kmarts. But they announced last month, they're looking to close as many as 300 more stores in the US by December.

That’s it. I’m going fishing. Quick sammich and off i go b

I may have found a frig for my keg. I think the inside height will be fine. As long as the frig unit enclosure inside doesn't take up too much room. I only need 9". (Karl, "that's what she said")

What's the shot glass for ??
Just pour to the top of the ice and add coke.
The larger the glass, the more you pour, the better it taste.
I use a 32oz cup.:D
It was a Burger King frozen Coke. I wanted to control the input. LOL
