Here's something else that's useful, the water pump from an LA will bolt on, which flows more than the poly pump. However, the inlet and outlet are switched In some applications.

so are you keeping and running the poly in your polara ??

I just ran the vin through a decoder and it is saying it is an LA 318

In 66 ????

I thought the LA came later

But according to an online decoder

PH23E6 is an LA

PH23E6 is an LA
Pre67 you can't trust the decoders. I tried that and it said my polara should have a 400... which didn't come out until 72.

Simple way to be sure, look at the valve covers. If it has bolts on top of the valve cover, it's a poly

I can't get the hood open yet, the latch is frozen
 
Got the carb rebuilt today... finally..

. and mine is running again... so far lol.

This is when I was cleaning it... notice how clear the carb cleaner is????? lol
