Actually hold the phone
I just ran the vin through a decoder and it is saying it is an LA 318
In 66 ????
I thought the LA came later
But according to an online decoder
PH23E6 is an LA
flat thing with a clip on each end...it is a jumper for the line to ground across the little hose that connects to tank.Well.. .there is a flat wire of some sort... more like thin metal from the feel of it that comes off the sending unit... and another piece up top of the tank, so I am thinking ground maybe. Haven't actually taken a flashlight under there yet. Suppose I should go do that lol. Be back in a bit.
I can't get the hood open yet, the latch is frozen
Going back out to tinker with things.
Yep... was reading the forum and found it! Even a picture and a link to a place that sells them for $10. I love this site!!!!flat thing with a clip on each end...it is a jumper for the line to ground across the little hose that connects to tank.

Yeppers... and may be why my fuel gauge always reads empty... maybe... I hope lolThat's the ground strap for the sending unit... One end goes on the metal elbow coming off the sending unit, and the other goes on the metal fuel line... It clips across the rubber hose that connects the metal fuel line from the car to the sending unit...
I have a rather sizable dislike of wiring issues. Best of luck on that one..
Do we guess? A flame thrower? Saw a post about them a while back...Hot out there here and playing with a new toy that generates heat
To test it,connect other wire to ground and turn on key. If gauge sweeps it means the wiring and gauge are good.Yeppers... and may be why my fuel gauge always reads empty... maybe... I hope lol
Went to get a tank of C25.Do we guess? A flame thrower? Saw a post about them a while back...

What do you mean... "other wire"??? Do you mean just run a separate ground to the frame over to the sending unit?To test it,connect other wire to ground and turn on key. If gauge sweeps it means the wiring and gauge are good.
I bought that one for a former boyfriend.close lol
I got it as an x-mas present front my g/f. LolI bought that one for a former boyfriend.
Sending unit has a wire, other than the ground strap. If you had a wire with alligator clips as a jumper, can ground sender wire to test. What do you mean... "other wire"??? Do you mean just run a separate ground to the frame over to the sending unit?
that would do itYeppers... and may be why my fuel gauge always reads empty... maybe... I hope lol
