Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well.. .there is a flat wire of some sort... more like thin metal from the feel of it that comes off the sending unit... and another piece up top of the tank, so I am thinking ground maybe. Haven't actually taken a flashlight under there yet. Suppose I should go do that lol. Be back in a bit.
flat thing with a clip on each end...it is a jumper for the line to ground across the little hose that connects to tank.

That's the ground strap for the sending unit... One end goes on the metal elbow coming off the sending unit, and the other goes on the metal fuel line... It clips across the rubber hose that connects the metal fuel line from the car to the sending unit...

Yeppers... and may be why my fuel gauge always reads empty... maybe... I hope lol

I have a rather sizable dislike of wiring issues. Best of luck on that one..

I'm ok with wiring...
I rewired the dash and half the engine compartment of my 69 Valiant daily driver back in the 90's because of a melted wire was causing an intermittant short....

Thats what i keep forgetting- cold ones!
Maybe i should find some...

This is so True...

What do you mean... "other wire"??? Do you mean just run a separate ground to the frame over to the sending unit?
Sending unit has a wire, other than the ground strap. If you had a wire with alligator clips as a jumper, can ground sender wire to test.

Good evening folks!

Not a great day here on the island weather wise. Heavy thunderstorms and rain for most of the day. But I did manage to get in a few hours fishing after the heavy stuff passed.

Caught a half dozen snapper blue fish and a few nice size blue claw crabs. The wife will have the blue fish for dinner and the crabs are in the floating holding pen waiting for me to get a few more before cooking them up.

Overall, not a bad day despite the crappy weather!
