Stop in for a cup of coffee

made me think of this...

The sleep is still in my eyes
The dream is still in my head
I heave a sigh and sadly smile
And lie a while in bed
I wish that it might come to pass
Not fade like all my dreams

Just think of what my life might be
In a world like I have seen!
I don't think I can carry on
Carry on this cold and empty life
Oh no!

My spirits are low in the depths of despair
My lifeblood...spills over
Whole album is freaky good.. Used to play the cassette daily!

Rush 2112 probably my favorite album. Rush - 2112 (full album) - YouTube
HAd that on 8 track in my Road Runner!

So I got some decent news from the doc today. My knee has improved stability wise so we're gonna continue with physical therapy another month and then re-evaluate. If by then, the swelling doesn't cease and the knee cap still doesn't align itself like it should, will have another knee surgery in Jan/Feb

I skipped 8 tracks and went right to cassettes. My brother was only 2 years older than me an he had 8-tracks
My friends drove hand me down cars, 8 tracks it was...
When I got a car, I got a hand me down under dash 8-track player. Scrounged various speakers until I finally bought a cheap pair ($20 bucks seemed like alot) - then I had stereo!

Good luck. Be great if you don't need surgery.

Damn, I hated cassettes. reverse on side 1 or forward on side 2? LOL

That is so cool.

I got in a car the other day and the driver had antique CDs ..... it was a cool sight. Not as cool as these 8 tracks but still cool to see some old stuff like that
Craig Powerplay! Cool stuff Rainy!

There were some advantages to 8 tracks. LOL.

I didn't have a big selection, especially first couple years. lemme see if I can do better remembering the few I ended up playing alot than what year Valiant it was.
One was a Foghat album I liked.
Another had some Doors on at least 2 tracks, including LA Woman, or maybe I got that later..

Kids sound better than Boston did live! Thanks for that..
Wish I could have found some of your favorite hooch. Not in my territory I guess. I talked with the fellow whisky tasting member and suggested that we have a sampling of our favorites starting around $20 and cheaper. I might be a interesting comparison. "lots of good stuff in that price range" I'm in!

I wonder if that car weighed anywhere near what an A100 does?
That dragster weighed next to nothin', but it was built by Alan Johnson and Alan doesn't do much before reasoning out the process. I asked him why it still had drum brakes on it. "Think about it, you use the brake.s 4 times and the burnout and staging is 3 of them, and they weigh less." The A100 pickup weighed about the same as most A Bodies 3000 lbs. neighborhood.

I'll figure out a way to send you a bottle for sample night..

I think I used up 2 "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" 8 tracks before I figured out how to pirate them off the home unit mom and dad had and bought albums after that. Blank tapes were cheap. :rofl:And I still have a lot of that vinyl :D

I don't know this Alan person you speak of but it seems you trust in him quite a bit. I don't know if that has anything to do at the point but kind of the point I was making was comparing an extremely light dragster to a pickup truck and what would be needed as far as a rear axle under extreme prolonged drag racing conditions. I can't imagine your Allen friend adding a couple thousand more lb to that Dragster and not wanting more of a rear-end than 8 and 3/4? Or maybe you're an advocate for an eight and three-quarter for an extreme drag racing? I'm certainly not going to take this into much more of any kind of discussion especially if it turned into an argument I just don't feel I would be confident with my giving experience with an 8 3/4 and a big massive truck with a blown Hemi. Just my two cents on it.
