Step drill is the way to go. You can get a cheapy at HF. They are good for maybe three holes! Blue tape the bit where you want to stop or it will pull itself in farther than you want. Lord have mercy where is Karl?Step drill bit for larger hole in sheet metal? My largest bit is 1/2" need a little bigger for throttle cable.
Maybe conical grinding stone
Going to be tough with H pipe. Will have to cut it more then likely..

not there yet....Any debris in the pan? Or not there yet?
Can’t unbolt it at manifolds enough to remove just the pan?Going to be tough with H pipe. Will have to cut it more then likely..
H pipe goes between the two sides. No way to pull trans with exhaust in place. Unbolt from headers. Might be able to drop exhaust in one piece. Will tryCan’t unbolt it at manifolds enough to remove just the pan?
Ahh I assume you gonna do that before removing the trans right?I can remove pan no pronlem

Relax and enjoy your time off John.Well I have basically been on a two week whirl wind teaching rolling road show. I am whipped. Feels great to not be in front of students this morning. No way I am back reading. So apologies in advance if I am not responding to someone’s inquiry. You boys do not mess around! Lots of pages I am skipping!
