Stop in for a drink.

A nice clear and gently warm evening here. The lagoon is calm and a pair of pelicans just flew overhead while I was watching a couple of otters swimming around the neighbors dock chasing fish. Soft music is playing in the background from another neighbors outdoor sound system as the seagulls are finding their night perches while softly crying out their intent. On the other side, a loon is swimming and diving all around the lagoon finding its dinner.

The sweet joy of late Summer evenings on the Island.

Life is good.

Funny, but we are all here laying on our backs out by the pool staring at the crystal clear sky counting stars. This Island is 6 miles out in the ocean and 75 miles away from the nearest large town contributing light pollution, so the sky view is pretty good on a clear night like tonight.

We can see the milkyway clearly and have counted about 10 shooting stars so far along with 3 polar orbit satellites and one equatorial orbit satellite.

Simple pleasures.

well finally got the front fenders pretty straight on my Scamp so ready for primer after the bondo dust settles down in the garage. Dusted myself off and time for a drink and looking at the booze shelf I think Crown Royal and a few ice cubes will be good. Cheers my friends....

Last day of vacation on the Island. I just finished filleting the fish from today’s catch and now sitting on the back deck with a cold beer trying to forget that we head home in the morning.

Could just say screw the job and stay there and have another beer.:)
Ah, if only I could!

September is the absolute best fishing month here hands down with big fluke and Black Sea Bass running in large numbers in the bay.

Alas...but I can’t stay. I need a winning lottery ticket to make that possible!

In September, you can catch a few of these every day if you know where to fish for them...

My generous neighbor dropped off a case of Firestone 805 to show his gratitude for helping him haul, move, and assemble not 1 but 3 new recliners. His wife decided it was time to refurnish.

Fished the ocean as a teenager on the West coast on my grand fathers boat and spent many nights on the water so not something I want to do again. Great sport fishing when you can come back to shore at the end of the day and know you don't have to go out in rough water if you don't want to. It's all yours Ddaddy and glad you enjoy it.

And us guys are happy with our old recliner that sags and has a few beer stains on it.

The bay here is never very rough and and I always come home before the sun sets. Biggest waves on the bay I have ever experienced are 3 footers...never enough to get into a pucker over.

I would spend every Summer here fishing the bay from June through the end of September if I could.

Maybe one day...

3' wow I can live with that.

The brat in law texts me and tells me they are putting in a kombucha bar in the neighborhood. I do some research, fermented sweet tea it says. I check out the local liquor emporium for it. Looking at the labels was like going through the flower dept at Home Depot. Hibiscus, rose hips, gardenia, magnolia :wtf:. Then He told me they call it "Hippie Juice". Sure not going to replace the sweet tea flavored Seagrams in the cupboard :rofl:here .

Back home from vacation. A little sad that it’s over, but it’s nice to be home.

Everything is unpacked and I’m sitting on the back deck enjoying an ice cold beer.

Just took the last of the gear back down to the basement. Having another cold beer now.

It’s not quite the same as looking at the water, but it’s not a bad view while sipping a cold beer on this nice evening...
