To fallow up on the 50 years or more old cocktail shaker , eather pours to a class this way our keep the ice or pulp in the shaker and pores threw the handle threw a screen, I must say it surprised me , never in my life have I seen one used .
Thank you to all the bourbon and beer drinkers in @toolmanmike fun thread, I figured this would be the thread to enjoy a little history behind the barr.

Must be a 6 ice cube afternoon. 5 didn't last long. Note to self "Use kool kups on the aluminium cocktail tumblers to maintain ice and avoid excessive water dilution."

@Sublime one Having some Fargo with a friend around a fire. Tasty! Thanks. Ted likes it

had a good dinner and a Beer with a friend down in Des Moines Ia. today feels good to get out of the house finally and just take a long drive .

Dennis stopped in with a bottle he picked up for me. It is a 120 proof single barrel, barrel pick done by a friend of ours. Driftless Glen
I couldn't wait to taste it. Wow! It is very nice! If you are a rye fan, it is loaded with spice flavor but has a very light spice and almost floral nose to start. The black pepper flavor lingers for a long time and tingles on your lips minutes after the first sip. At 120 proof it is a light sipper for sure. Ben Drinkin' is scheduled to stop by sometime tomorrow on his way back to Texas and this will be on the list of things to sample. Cheers! Oh by the way, Amanda who was involved in the barrel pick, made up some special labels for this and the dog is one of her's.

Say Hi to Ben Drinkin for us and safe travels.
That rye looks and sounds good, happy sipping Toolman.

Will do Fred. I heard you had a good time here in Iowa and learned a thing or two from Lon. LOL

Stock up on the lienies if you like the artwork. They have gone politically correct and are removing the squaw.

Cider Corps Mesa Az., craft ciders. My brat-in-law brought them to my attention. 2 brothers, former Marines, all their brews are military themed. I may have to give it a try next visit to Az.

Never heard of that. I started early to warm me up. Been outside since for noon. Just some cheap stuff but quite smooth and tasty. I drink it neat so it can't be too bad. LOL
