Strange heater problem

Hey guys, my best friend has a duster, 1975 I think. When we go cruizing down the highway with the heater on it works fine, even in town it does good. However, every time we make a sharp right turn (such as a street corner or roundabout) it starts blowing freezing air from outside. Any ideas what may be causing this issue? Any help appreciated!

It sounds like the cable for the blend door has come off and allows the door to swing open when you go around a corner letting cold fresh air into the passenger compartment.
