spare / doughnut is T125/30R16

Pm me your e-mail or phone number and I will send you pics of it in the well.
You must have mis-typed that. There is no such thing as a "T125/30R16" tire. Besides, if there were it would only be 22" diameter... your rocker panels would be scraping the road!

you are right.....T125 / 80 R 16

good catch

that is what I get for having my cat read off the numbers....he mixes up his 3s and 8s all the time.

LOL !! Gives a whole new meaning to 'Red Lighting" in your car!

BTW, did you do a build thread for that car on here? I would love to check it out.

Thanks again Denny.

actually, there are three, this one (last of the three) starts once it came out of paint

it is kind of a long one......
A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

Hey Denny, your Duster build is amazing! Meticulous attention to detail!! Couple of questions.... I noticed a Keisler Bellhousing but a 4-speed Passon transmission. Are they both Aluminum pieces? What are gear ratios ? Would you consider the new 5-speed Passon transmission as good a setup as you are using? Also, did you modify the rad support for a 26" rad?
Thanks for all the info.

Thanks.....the detail is just part of the disease.

The aluminum Keisler bellhousing accepts both trans and back when I started my Duster build, I wasn't sure which (4 or 5 speed) way I was going. I decided 4-speed, bought one from Jamie / Passon Perf....then when I decided on the GV od and it came with its own aluminum tail shaft /adapter, I took the trans back to Jamie and he swapped it over to the aluminum case he started producing and added the GV tail. I kept and use the iron case for mock up. Jamies 5-speed was only on the drawing board back then (2005).

In April, I have a customer bringing his Scamp, Gen II Hemi, and other goodies to my shop for a HDK install. We will be using Jamie's 855 5-speed as well as all his conversion pieces.

No big mods for the Griffin Exact fit radiator other than a small notch on each side at the top of the radiator support to get the radiator to sit tight against it.....I needed the extra 1/4" forward for fan blade clearance.

Just got back from vacation and saw your videos. Sounds great, you'll be driving in no time. Somebody told me the temporary spare from a Crown Vic was a good fit in the trunk, and I think the rim is aluminum.

Thanks Denny,

The Passon 5-Speed is the next item on my list. Also wasn't available when I got my 4-speed from Brewers. BTW, I found Wayne at Brewers Transmissions very good to deal with and, I have also been in contact with Jamie Passon who is also very accommodating and a wealth of knowledge.

Thanks qkcuda,

I'm hoping to be able to drive it on the road in April. If everything goes as smooth as the engine start-up, I'm in luck!!

Hey guys,

Just finished installing and permanently wiring in my new Retro audio system manufactured by Redondo. This unit is great!!It fits well and has the factory look, down to the Plymouth lettering in the display window, and comes with Am/FM/Sat Radio/Bluetooth/Bluetooth audio and two USB connections. I also bought the USB extension cable and was able to install the housing for it in the lighter socket in the console ashtray . Snapped right in as if it was made for it!! I also got the stereo center dash speaker and the hidden antenna which allowed me to cover the exterior mounting antenna hole in the fender . I feel the car has a cleaner look without the exterior antenna . Also bought the front kick panels with the speaker enclosures and I will also be installing a second amplifier under the back seat. Pics to follow..

Here are the pics of the installed Retro Audio system. This unit fit fantastic and was very easy to set up. Keeps the stock appearance while offering the latest audio options.

By the way...

In this pic you can see the result of installing a second map light on the driver side. Makes a world of difference in lighting up the interior around the pedals at night. More balanced lighting appearance

as well.

Question about A-bodies with Rallye Guages.

Can anyone tell me where the Rallye cluster oil gauge should read under normal operating temperatures? The pointer in my guage reads about 1/4 of the full sweep. I have a high volume oil pump and figure 40- 50 lbs. should be the output. Magnum 360 engine.

I'm asking because I haven't used this gauge in a long time, had a mechanical Gauge previously . New oil pressure switch BTW.

Thanks for any help

I run a high pressure (not high volume) pump. I also run 20W50 oil. Cold it almost pegs the stock gauge. Warm as I recall it runs around the middle or a little lower, and a little higher at cruise rpm. If you are using thinner oil and you have around 1/4 at idle and it increases closer to 1/2 at higher rpm I would say you are fine.

Cool !

Thanks for the reply qkcuda!!

Something odd about my car I forgot to mention....

In the pic above you will see a console mounted clock. I know it is not a factory option as the 68 Barracuda only came with a tach, vacuum gauge, clock , or filler panel in the center gauge pod. . Funny thing about it is that I have the original console top plate that is factory drilled for it. Also , the console wiring has the factory connectors for it.

I have spoken to all the original owners of the car and all state that it has been in the car when they owned it . Only thing I can think of is that the console top is the same as the 67-68 Dart that came with a console mounted Tach. Wonder if its possible that the plate was used possibly because they ran out of top plates and they used this clock to fill the space where the mounting holes were?

I've heard of oddball items showing up in Mopars back in the day. Has anyone seen this before? I spoke to the guys at Heater Box in Canada who retrofitted the clock with electronics to replace the mechanical innards and they say the clock is the same as the unit that came in the 67 Chargers!

My car originally had a Vacuum gauge with the 150mph speedo. I've spoken to the original owner and he is trying to find some pics for me he has of the day he picked the car up at the dealership. I'll post these pics if I can get them.

Be interesting to see if anyone else on here has seen oddball items show up on their A-Bodies.

Mine came with the clock in the dash, and I replaced it with a performance indicator (vacuum gauge). I wonder if you ordered the rallye dash (150 speedo) with either the performance indicator or the tach and you ordered a clock, if they put one in the dash and the other on the console?

Very good point qkcuda!

That would definitely explain it!

The USB charger in your console- I've been planning on doing this. Can you tell me the model number and/or where you got it?

Thanks.

Sure ! No problem.
Here is the website and the product description. Just remove the cigarette lighter base and install the usb housing in its place. Fits perfect with no mods.
Hope this helps!
