switching from glass fuses to blade fuses

-
Somewhere I saw a fuse that retrofits the glass fuse base to a modern blade type fuse. Just plug it in. I can`t remember who made it but it`s out there.

The company that has the adapter is called American Innovation Corporation. There minium order is 25 pieces. Here is the link http://www.aicorp.us/

Sweet i'm glad I came across this thread, I have been wanting to do this same thing for the longest time, but thought I would have to change out the whole fuse block, so never bothered with it. Those adapters will make it so much easier, I didn't even know they existed. Now I will only have to carry one type of fuse with me in my car. Thanks so much for the link.

Yeah, it looks like a pretty neat product. Anybody interested in splitting cost on an order of 25 (1 pack) ? I don't really need 25, and not really interested in paying $55.

$55 dollors for a pack of 25 fuses, not $55 each fuse? I hate when I'm tired. I swear I just read $55 a fuse.

I'd like to get in on a few dozen.

I made my own adaptors. I found some "female" terminals that fit over the "male" legs of the blade type fuses, crimped short pieces of 14 gauge wire on, and then soldered the unterminated end of each wire to the ends of the glass fuse (basically a blade type fuse in parallel with the glass fuse). I then "blew" each glass fuse "open". I then populated each adaptor with the same Amp rating as the glass fuse they are to replace. Much easier to find and replace the blade type fuses in a hurry. Been this way for about 3 years, with no trouble. And can be returned to "stock" in minutes (for those interested in originality).

The point of that product? Not easy for me to get the OE type fuse.
