The 70 Duster......

-
Went over today and the new quarter panel is on. I could not get really good pics due to where the car was sitting. He was really busy so I just peeked in long enough to see the car. It is looking GREAT!!!

carcrazyguy, you are one amazing guy.I would like to meet you one day Man. I stumbled on this Duster build thread last night, I was so into it, I went through 15 pages last night. I told my son when I got off work today, I was going to finish it up tonight. It was like I was with you all along the way,I hate you had to go through all that stuff with the body shops, but it all turned out great in the end. Great looking Charger and Duster, hope to see the Cuda soon. Thanks,Double Six

Thanks. Just the average car guy who enjoys seeing a project go from a dream to reality. My entire family has always been into cars. So I had no other choice. As a kid growing up in a Mopar family. Even coming home from the hospital in a 1971 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus, in 1972. My dad had a couple of Chargers (68 and a 70), moms 71 Satellite, and my older brothers (jdr2483) 68 Charger, 70 Challenger and 73 Road Runner. My other brothers cars included 70 and 74 Barracudas, a 66 Charger, 69 Road Runner (which I bought from him at one time) and so many Dodge trucks that there is no way I can count them all. I think the family has had about every type of Mopar except a pre 60's and maybe a K car....lol

My mom had the 71 Satellite, a Dodge Magnum then a Dodge Mirada.
My dad had the 68 and 70 Chargers, a 72 D100 he restored, bought a fleet (yes more than a couple) of termite company Aspen station wagons (I was in high school and I somehow recall the back seats folded flat), a few 72-74 Challengers, a 73 Satellite, many (probably 20 Dodge trucks from 74-2005 models), and his current Dakota Sport Convertible (RHS 360 crate motor) and the 2012 Challenger R/T
My brother jdr2483 had the the 68 Charger (somehow had broken motor mounts more than once which somehow is tied to rumors of pulling wheelies in it), 70 purple Challenger R/T, 68 Coronet R/T 440 car, a 73 Road Runner 400 pistol grip 4 speed car, several Ram trucks including his current daily driver Ram he has had for over 15 years now and his 2009 B5 blue Challenger R/T (low miles) he bought new.
My half brothers have 2 72-74 Barracudas, 2 74 Chargers, 73 Challenger 340 Rallye, 73 Dart Sport 340 and probably 4 Dodge trucks between them.

Forgot to include my "once owned cars".. high school started with a 71 340 Demon factory hood scoop and rear wing car (which I still look for on a regular basis), a 71 Road Runner. Then a 69 Road Runner that I bought from my brother. Also along the way I had 74 Challenger red white top and interior, 73 Dart Sport B5 blue white top with factory sunroof, a 77 Cordoba blue with white interior, 81 Cordoba (mirada style) red, a 74 SWB D100 tan, 84 SWB D100 white, 77 D150 brown and tan, 85 D150 two tone blue, a 2001 Dakota R/T club cab (we bought new for my wife), a 93 Ram SWB white/red, plus all the current ones. Not included are all the parts cars and untouched projects that I sold over the years.

So there is no shortage and never has been a shortage of Mopars in the family!

The Barracuda is progressing well enough that I have started thinking about
"the next" project. Just before we moved from Fort Worth back to Amarillo. I spotted a car that I could not pass up, even though I was in the middle of selling off all the untouched, unfinished project cars. After seeing it listed. I waited about 2 weeks to go look at it, hoping that someone else would buy it so I did not have to see the ad anymore. I eventually went to look at it and passed up on it after looking it over. Then I could not quit thinking about it. So I just had to buy it. I have already started gathering parts for it.....:banghead: But when is the last time you saw a 71 Satellite Sebring Plus optioned out like this? N code 383-4 bbl, B5 blue with V6B light blue stripes, TX9 bucket seat interior, M73 color coded elastomeric bumpers, W23 15 inch rallye wheels, U86 raised white letter Goodyears, A36 axle package, S15 Hemi suspenion with sway bars, S25 firm ride shocks.

The car was a factory undercoated car. I was torn on undercoating or painting the bottom of the car. I went back and fourth from the first day on that topic. In the end, we decided to go back with the somewhat stock look.
