Something else to note when using a Magnum oil pan with an LA timing cover: you'll have to cut part of the one piece pan gasket that goes under the timing cover, use the LA oil pan to timing cover gasket and seal the seams between the two.

I'm pretty sure the last one we did, you use the magnum pan with the one peice gasket, there is no cutting or splicing of anything.

It might be. That's good info to know. I thought it was for LA cover with the one piece gasket.

It's the LA pan on a Magnum where you have to goop the gaps if you use the one piece gasket. The timing covers are the same at the bottom.

I thought it was the LA cover that mattered, not the pan. Maybe it's the LA cover with the Magnum pan.
