Thoughts on this barracuda????

Ask yourself why it has been sitting so long is why.
and how many other guys walked away.
It has never been for sale. Sat in a garage since 84... with stuff piled on top of it. Only within the last year or so did it come out. Guy who owns it now bought it for his kids to restore but they have little interest in it. Now he would entertain an offer.

Well mine HAD round lights.

I see way way way way way worse off cars for over 10k not big block cars, jump on it !
If you can get it for 17k max

I was guessing a 40k restoration job.... to 50k. .... was told this was a 440 4 barrel.... but need to go back with more time and really take a look before I make a serious offer..... I need to check this as the tag shows it as 383.... but my guess is that it was a factory 383... just gotta make sure the numbers matching engine is there....
Tried to zoom in on the number plate, doesn't seem to have 1 it is a low deck

Like all old Mopars (especially E’s and B’s)
You gotta ask yourself how much:
a) Knowledge
b) Experience
c) Time
d) Money
e) Patience
f) Masochistic Tendencies
do you have?
If you could buy it, flip it tomorrow and double your money that’s a good starting point.

I would get it mechanically reliable, and run it as is, unless something much worse than can be seen in pics. Way more fun when you don't have to worry about every little thing. Can always slowly gather all that is needed for restoration.

not enough pics to tell anything really.. 70 cudas are still very desirable.. guess it depends what you want from it.. if it were me and i could get it for a good price, i'd get it running, buff it out and go beat the hell out of it until someone wants to offer you stupid money for it.

This is where its at. You get all the fun of getting it running. You dont have to do the body work. You dont have to worry about door dings. and when the money man shows up you get to collect.

Just get it running and driving.
Anybody that comments on the body work needed, just hold out your hand and say I’m taking donations.

Did I miss the price? People will give $10,000 for second gen Chargers like that. That alone is why I will not have a second gen Charger project again!
IF you have to pay for all or most of the work in it, you will be in for a BIG bill.
If you can buy it right, and the market on these restored cars does not keep falling, you might clean it up, get it running, driving and sell it more a few $ profit.
I have had a ton of E bodies decades ago, I much rather have an A or B body, but they are sexy cars. Rattle, rattle, rattle.
Check out that rusty roof! Plus all the other dozen touble spots!! Maybe find a knowledge Mopar guy that has restored and built these old cars to help you look at it.

I'm a patina guy, so paint wouldn't cost me anything, love the way it looks. I'd throw some fatty's in the back, traction bars, put a cheap RV 440 in there with a couple of cheap upgrades, and I'd drive the stuff'n's out of it.

Keep it look'n like it's the year 1978 and I bet it would get more thumbs up than the other 15 trailer queens lined up at the car show...... not that I care what anyone thinks ! :)

^^LIKE SAID! People love seeing these old cars on the road, and if it shows its age and battle scars, we love it! Anyone with $$$$$ can restore anything, takes a different cat to love and drive them especially when not shiny!
And..... The first day anyone will generally get upside down in these old Mopars is the day he starts a resto!!!
Clean it up, get it running, driving safely,,,, and enjoy it!
If the fender tag, vins match, it is a 383 car and desirable enough. Just pay what YOU feel comfortable with, What it is worth to YOU, anyone else opinion does not matter, unless you wife or to be wife!

It's a 70 Cuda it will cost you the same amount to restore it as a 72-74 ONLY it will be worth more when finished. If you can't do most of the work yourself I'd still buy it , get it running at least and make a few dollars on it. If you intend on keeping it plan on lot's of money and time and you'll have a 70 Cuda when it's done. It's a cool car I've watched a lot of ROADKILL recently and the burnt 68 fastback Cuda was pretty cool when done and they can beat the piss out of it and not hurt the value. A mean assed big block , 5 speed , dana and 10 cans of flat black paint THAT THING WOULD BE AWESOME!!!!

Exactly why I never did the body on my ‘73 E. To much money. Looks like he’ll, but runs like hell!

Altered and agreed apon!

^^^ At last scuff, wipe it down and spend $200 for real auto acrylic urethane with hardner!!! And $20 HF gun!
I know, RoadKill can make anything great with zip ties, duct tape and cheap aerosol cans of paint! ha

$40-50K ONLY if you can do all the work yourself!
