I finally had a chance to pick up a 1973 340 Duster I have known about for a while. It's pretty much gutted but I found, to my delight, that someone stuck an 8 3/4 under it at one time.
It looks like it was a pretty well optioned car:

Ah yes, dragging home some new treasure on the old trailer. Brings back memories.

A heated rear window here at the Edge of the World would have been rare indeed in 1973. Mostly, I see nothing for the rear glass. What I do see is typically the forced air package.

The JF1 paint code was Mint Green in 1972, the color was used through 74, at least. What I saw on the car was a faded version of that paint. I have every reason to believe that the paint on the car is original.

Good luck on your new purchase. Post your restoration on the Members Restoration thread.

Nice buy, you may as well bring the 4 Speed Demon back to me, you want have time to work on it any ways!!!!HEHEHEHE

Great score! What are your plans for it?

There is major frame damage to the right rear(thus the caved in quarter) and also floor and frame rot. It's doesn't have any interior or drivetrain, so I think it's gonna be an organ donor for my other A body projects.

Thanks for the paint code 2Darts:thumblef:

And Doug, your '69 will be on the trailer next:)

so, did they put a b body 8 3/4 under it or a small bolt a body 1...looks like big bolt from here?

looks like a pre 65 B-body rear to me. You can see the bolt on the end of the axle. Nice parts car there.

It appears as though retsud likes ford!. lol, However he only likes them enough for the cobra mustang wheels he popped onto his trailer lol. Not alot of guys rcognise those cobra wheels (which I am pretty sure from the picture that they are) most people hear cobra and think the mustang cobra r wheel. Sorry. off topic lol I just happened to see that and thought it was a bit funny. Great parts car you got there. be sure to post up a for sale ad on anything you did not want or need.

Hey Chris
My wife wants to know if your wife is "NUTS" for allowing you to have that many A-Bodies? LOL:dontknow::dontknow:

If the axle is original it should be an 8 3/4 with a 3.23 to go along with the original 340. Thats how mine came straight from the factory.

Well it keeps me out of trouble.... I'm not at the bar playing VLT's or chasing skirts around....so she can put up with a few extra cars(out of sight) in the yard.
The only problem she has is I have 2700 sq ft. of shop space and our house is only 1400.
You can tell I have my priorities straight:toothy10:

I am jealous:pale::pale::pale: but My wife said she would rather clean 1400 rather 2700 anyhow.

Chris allright already, get a car done. I think that you have the a body parts car market sewed up. Trust me, finding extra cars is awesome but ripping the hides off them is better!

Dwayne, nobody said it was a clean 2700:angry7: Some days I can barely find the floor

Yeah I know Rob, but it's like an addiction.....the thrill of the hunt.
I'll have Michelles done by spring....Then I start on the Demon.
