Run a tensioner or buy a Milodon gear drive and be done with it. Buy once, cry once.
Thought it was, don’t be a B**** and just put a damn gear drive on it already...

I gotta crap one too! If you remember my keyway was cut wrong it was like 20 degrees retarded dot to dot!Well maybe you just found two crap *** timing sets. There's plenty out there. Here's a tip. Unless you pay "around" or over 100 bucks, you're not gettin a good one. If stable and accurate timing is important to you, the 40 dollar timing set ain't gonna get it done.
Scody 21,
A B**** is uncalled for, but so easy to do behind a computer 3000 miles away.

i ca't beleve this is even a topic these days . Back in the day you bought a chain whatever brand and it worked . has quality control gotten that bad ? I n 40 years i can't remember ever buying a new chain that was loose
Looking at that and may just have run a tensioner. Ive put chain sets in Mopar, Ford and chevy and never had this kind of problem.
Thanks, Tim

I’m not sure who makes this for Summit but we bought another one (the first one I bought 4 yrs ago is on my 410 stroker and there was/are no issues) for a 360 we are building and the cam gear is a loose fit on the many cams (so not a cam issue) we tried it on so back it went. Update on the timing chain issue. I purchased a set thru Hughes from Pro Gear. Installed as it should and didnt require a tensioner. Rusty Rat Rod was right, pay a little more to get quality parts. Still a shame how bad old companies parts have become.
Thanks to all, Tim
